David Levinson Wilk is my hero, the Master Crossword Puzzle Creator, hands down. I continue to marvel at not only how he can fill in a symmetrically-laid out grid with words, phrases, abbreviations, etc. that fit some definition or description (no matter how delightfully 'punny' these get), but how he can also work in a clever THEME along with it! --As to the book itself, the spiral binding allows it to lie flat or fold open nicely for ease of use, and the print is adequately large for most people. I also like the fact that the puzzle solutions in the back are not presented chronologically -- (the page number they appear on is shown on each puzzle) -- because this helps keep your eye from 'wandering' over to the next puzzle before you've gotten there in the book! I give this an A++!

This is the third Wilk Crosswords I've bought and have enjoyed them all.
There is always an interesting theme or twist, usually comic, to discover as you work on these puzzles.
They are not too hard - I'd say equal to a NYT "Wednesday" puzzle - I found them fun!
Hope more books will be added to the series.

For the packaging and usability : 5 stars. Great binding, very durable book, thick paper so there's no bleeding through, etc. Perfect for traveling, rough handling, and passing around.

For the content of the puzzles: 3 stars. I enjoyed the first third or so of the puzzles I did, but since they are all by the same author, and of the same difficulty level (Tuesday - Wednesday NYT), I felt after awhile that this collection didn't offer much of a challenge or room to grow. Indeed, many many clues are recycled from puzzle to puzzle. They almost all follow the formula of 4 long across lines that all have something similar about them which is "revealed" in a 5th long across line. Again, the formula is repeated so much it ceases to be fun after awhile.

I'd much rather have a collection made by different authors for some variety. I felt like I was doing the same puzzle over and over again in this book.

Very good puzzle book. Not the hardest in the world but have enough twists and turns to make the old brain stretch, which is good. Themes are a real plus. More often than not, very clever.

Some of the puns used will have you groaning but that's part of the fun. If you're into moderately difficult puzzles that give you a sense of satisfaction when completed, you'll enjoy this book.

Not nearly as difficult as the title would lead you to believe; have been completing the puzzles in a few minutes (I go for the difficult/challenging/expert grade). Quality is OK.
