Clever way to drive pre-orders,

= Fun:3.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: EverQuest 2 Pre-sell Bonus Disk (CD-ROM)
This bonus disk, sold on Amazon for just a dollar, is actually available free from the site of the producers, Sony Online Entertainment. It contains a video trailer for the forthcoming MMORPG, Everquest II, some additional information and a 'Character Builder' - a tool that allows users to design and name the character that they will use in the game once it's launched. Perhaps the real bonus is that everyone who orders this disc will automatically get a pair of Journeyman Boots (which will allow their in-game character to walk a little faster) if they register online at the SOE site. My only cavill about this disc is that the Character Builder is rather rudimentary compared to the process available in Sony's other large MMORPG, Star Wars Galaxies. In that game, you can create a toon that, despite having the same racial and professional characteristics as others, does look different and individual. In this EQII character builder, you can spend an enjoyable twenty minutes, say, tweaking and shaping your Gnome Mage and then, when you're done, you realise he still looks exactly the same as the base character on which you started except that he now has a new hair-do. Slightly disappointing.

Good Game, not worth the presell,

I loved EQ2 when I was playing it, but there were too many classes and it took too long to level. Also, the raid mentally overwhelmed it, just in like EQ1. The presell bonus disk was a waste btw.
