Just started using these batteries and noticed that about half of them have powdery corrosion on them. I suspect they are
rather old stock. Copyright is 2008.

Update: Just opened package to use these and the first two batteries(8-30-13) would not power a Accurite thermometer. Appears Expiration date is 2015 so the 2008 is the production date. Looked up and storage life is 7 years so 2015 minus 7 is 2008. This sucks and ad does not say anything about being
very old stock. Plan to file complaint.

Update: Because I did not notice the white powder and expiration date till I opened package to use, the seller refuses to replace because it is
past their 30 day return. Amazon should pull this seller.

I bought these batteries with the intention of using them in wireless devices, so I didn't need to change them out as often as when I was using rechargeable batteries.

They failed quite badly in this regard. My Eneloops tend to last about 6 weeks in a wireless keyboard before needing to be recharged. These batteries would last only about 4 weeks. Despite being alkaline, they had worse life than a rechargeable battery. And lest you think this is perhaps some quirk of wireless keyboards(sort of like how digital cameras drain alkaline batteries faster than rechargeable lithium batteries), it is not. After burning through these 16 batteries in less than a year, I bought some Amazon Basic AAA batteries. These are also alkaline batteries, and they last closer to three months - not one. They are also slightly cheaper than the Eveready batteries.

These are honestly the worst batteries I have ever purchased, and I am including generic batteries I've randomly grabbed on need at a dollar general or a gas station. The only thing positive I have to say about these batteries, is that they discharged all power without leaking(which sounds like an issue for another reviewer).

I've generally considered Everyready to be a decent battery company. I bought a huge box of 48 of their AA batteries(it was on sale for $12, couldn't go wrong!). This was almost four years ago. I've still got half of them, and they work well. There is something very wrong with this particular model, and I wouldn't suggest them. I had much better luck with the Amazon Basic AAAs.
