Any of you nerds out there (like me) watch Dr. shows and just wish you could get hold of one of those handy little head lights. Well, this is the next best thing.

CONSTRUCTION: This head light is constructed of a rubber head band adjustable in a wide range. I wear a size 7 hat and this head band circumference could go a full 2 inches larger and about 8 inches smaller. Based on this size it could also go on your arm or leg as well. The flashlight part has rubber in the back to stay in place. Also the flashlight can pivot 180 degrees straight up or down. The top 90 degrees adjustment is infinite, the lower 90 degrees has 9 fixed positions. If you prefer the reverse just put the headband on upside down. The flashlight part is made like a tee with the tops of the tee held in a frame that holds the head band. Where the top of the tee goes into the frame, there are the hand grips to adjust the angle as well as the grip to turn on. The batteries are in the top of the tee. The bottom of the tee is the bulb and lens unit.

OPERATION AND BRIGHTNESS: It is turned on by a twist action so is unlikely to get accidentally turned off. It takes 4-AA size batteries that come with it. The batteries make up about half the weight of the unit. There is a single level of brightness and it is very bright. Shown at a wall of about 6 feet away the brightest ring is about 8 inches across, but the outer ring is over 12 feet in diameter.

USES: I bought this light for hands free work where I needed a brighter light or I could not get my snake light in under the sink or pointed consistently in the right direction. I'm sure you could wear this light on a bike. I'm not sure if you could use it for jogging, as the flashlight section is a bit heavy and bouncing may result on working it down on your face.

This is a handy little gadget that I'm glad I found.

This is going to sound a bit odd, but I bought this light because I needed a good light source to use with my Game Boy Advance, and the idea of that light always being where I want it was too good to pass up.

The light itself is excellent, having one of the brightest and cleanest spots I've seen. While it is a bit heavy to wear it has a very comfortable pad and easily adjusted strap. I eventually got used to the weight.

Here is the ONLY reason I did not give this creative little wonder 5 stars: Incredibly short battery life. The 4 AA's that came with it were drained in about an hour of use, and when I went out and bought 4 more AA's those died out in about 3 hours. Admittedly, I do use the light for a longer stretch at once than most (to play the games), but I think that 3 hours of straight use to have the batteries die is very limited.

The item was indispensable during the blackout. Walking down 11 flights of stairs with no stairwell lights was only made possible by my having this. Other tenants followed me down and cheered on reaching street level.

My yellow Everready headband light is still operating after all these years. Only thing is the black nub of a switch broke and I thought it would be a candidate for disposal. But no!!! found that if I remove the brokennub through the light assembly, and reassemble it, I can insert a blunt stylus and push down the remaining piece of switch to turn on the light. I am disappointed that it is discontinued. I would have purchased another one, despite shortcomings re weight of the batteries. Gives fabulous light and love the way the light assembly ratchets into the needed position when needed.
