I am not a professional musician by any means--I play the keyboard moderately well, but a couple of years ago I decided to broaden my horizons a little, so bought a violin (from Amazon, of course...) I watched numerous videos both before and after that purchase, and a few that stuck with me 'poo-pooed' the use of a shoulder rest, as if that somehow was an affront to the 'purist' philosophy. Well, I listened to that and toughed it out--failing to make any progress whatsoever--until just the other night when I watched a virtuoso violinist play Vivaldi's Four Seasons. Guess what? She used a shoulder rest. Well, deciding to be a moron no longer, I spent a little time reading reviews and settled on this, for both the price and apparent quality. I received it today, a day early even with Prime, and then watched a short Youtube video on how to install it. Oh. My. God. What an amazing difference! The rest installed tightly and perfectly, and within thirty seconds I was holding the instrument comfortably under my neck without touching it at all, and playing scales, etc., better than I had over the two years I suffered without it. To heck with the 'purist'; do yourself a favor and buy one of these--now!

I really like the Everest shoulder rest, because it grips the violin well and doesn't fall off. I've had Kun pads in the past, but in recent years they changed the type of rubber they use, and it causes the pad to slip off the violin frequently. The Everest also has solid rubber feet, so it poses no danger to the violin; on a Kun, the rubber will eventually wear down to bare metal. The Everest appears to be well-made, and even has thicher shoulder padding- very comfortable!

I bought this for my daughter who has been playing violin for about 4 yrs now. This is high quality and excellently constructed with nice solid rubber legs that will not damage your instrument, I believe this is even better than a Kun she used to have that we paid almost $35 for. If you are comparing this with a Resonans TRUST ME, pay the couple dollars extra and get this, the quality is night and day, she had a Resonans and the exposed metal rivets damaged the wood on her violin, you will never have that problem with the EVEREST, she also said it is the most comfortable shoulder rest she has had and keeps the violin tucked between her chin and shoulder effortlessly hands free.
I ordered mine on Amazon, shipped by "Everjoy Music" and it arrived lightning fast, second day after I ordered it, and that was with FREE shipping!

Putting this shoulder rest on the violin was easy, and I finally was able to hold the violin without my hands, the way the instructors say to hold a violin.

Just started learning to play the violin. My collar bone was getting very sore and I was having some finger placement difficulties. This slid right on and is very comfy. Makes holding the violin much easier and lets me concentrate more on finger placement instead of holding the violin in place. Great price, fast shipping and very comfy. I am no expert but this worked great for me.

I'm no expert, just a grandmother trying to learn violin in parallel with some grandchildren. However, a very, very fine violinist recommended I use this shoulder rest and I'm glad she did. It's much easier to hang on to the violin and makes it possible to think about something besides fear of dropping it. And, at my skill level, I have plenty of other things to think about! I would have given it 4.5 stars because I wish it was a little easier to attach to the violin. But that problem could be just me, not the item.

My performance has improved and I owe it all to my Everest EZ shoulder rest. It is very comfortable and I trust it not fall off during performing or while being played hard. It has a wide thick padding on a wide body that has added me in less shoulder and neck pain I was having from other brands that I have tried.

There are six threaded adjusting holes on the underside so it can be set to fit either a 4/4 or 3/4 violin for a custom fit. The wide curved feet grips only the edge of the violin and never touches the body of the instrument that would deaden sound vibration for a sure fit. No medal objects around anywhere or pieces sticking out that potentially could harm or scratch your violin. It helps me to play much better and so now I use it all the time. I wanted to give up violin and take up cello until I found this Everest EZ shoulder rest. Melissa

I am extremely happy with this product. I own several shoulder rests, and this quickly became my favorite and stays on my favorite violin. I have no problem whatsoever keeping it on the violin as long as it's in the proper position. The adjustability is a key factor, and I can turn one side low and the other side higher for a highly customized fit. The padding is also excellent and comfortable. A top-quality product.
