Book Description

June 30, 2008
Everest is Hollow is an adventure novel, featuring a teenage Indiana Jones-style archaeologist. His nickname is "Trouble." Together with his friends Nuru and Tattoo, Trouble climbs Mount Everest's difficult West Ridge. Fierce weather and snow leopards add to the risk of an already challenging expedition. Their risks multiply when Trouble enters a cave and realizes Everest is hollow. Inside the world's tallest mountain, he discovers an abandoned city, the key to a lost civilization built on treasures of the past. How it was done is a mystery. The only clue is a strange creature, the last of his species.

5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful novel!, July 28, 2008
By
Charles Pierce II (Santa Clara, CA, USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Everest Is Hollow (Paperback)
This book is a delight to read, a tense adventure. I haven't had this much fun since discovering the Harry Potter series after JK Rowling published her fourth one. I'm glad I got in on the ground floor this time, starting the adventures of "Trouble" from the beginning with "Everest is Hollow." I had to buy a second copy for myself to finish, so I could see how the story turned out. Halfway through, I lost the first copy to my wife, who wouldn't let go of it. I also shared "Everest is Hollow" with friends at a picnic, reading some of the book aloud. They, along with their kids, were hooked. The story is hypnotic.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Read, December 5, 2008
By
Michelle Stuart (San Francisco, CA USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Everest Is Hollow (Paperback)
I downloaded Everest is Hollow to my Kindle and got hooked. The climbing scenes made my hands sweat. I couldn't put the story down until I finished it. I ordered book copies for the pre-teens and teens in my extended family. They've been moping about the Harry Potter series reaching the end. Now they can go on, read another boy adventure and explore a new world. I also love the idea that profits from the book sales are donated to Doctors Without Borders.

4.0 out of 5 stars I couldn't stop reading, November 29, 2009
A Kid's Review
This review is from: Everest Is Hollow (Paperback)
I'm in 4th grade and I couldn't put this book down! It was a great adventure story, with one mystical happening leading to another. It reminded me of Indiana Jones with ancient things coming to life, like an Egyption healing pyramid in the middle of Mt. Everest. Even though some things seemed slightly hard to picture, I thought the author did a good job of describing an unfamiliar world. I've read this book twice and I want to read it again.
