Just received this riser. Over all I think it is a good product. However it has a problem that the engineers should have spotted easily. The holes for the Wii Fit board are too deep. This causes the sensors to give incorrect information on weight and BMI to the game. It also fails to read stepping and excercising properly. I solved this problem by putting two poker chips in each of the holes for the Wii board feet. This gave just enough rise and still kept the board stable on the riser. Everything works great now. If the product had been made properly I would have given it 5 stars. Since it needed me to modify the flaw, it only rates 1 star. If I hadn't thought of the poker chips it would have rated a big fat "0". I hope the people at Everlast take note. I'm sure that many of these will be returned because of a truly stupid error. I would still recommend this product because it is the best of the two risers on the market for Wii.

As many have noted, the holes on this step are too deep. Sounds like a common problem for other risers, too. But it's an easy fix, so don't let that stop you from getting a better workout. Read the other posts for suggestions.
With Wii Fit Plus, I'm not sure the calories burned are accurate any more since the game is obviously unaware that each step your taking is now 3" higher off the ground. That said, I'm not sure who believes those numbers anyway and it's certainly not an Everlast issue. Like others, would have given this product 5 stars had the holes been the right depth. This is a great addition to your work out.
Product included accurate instructions on assembling with 4 screws (there's a cross member to connect the two sides). Like all good products, it even had a fifth screw to satisfy every male's desire to end up with extra parts. (YMMV on the extra parts)

This does make the Step workouts more of a challenge and gets the heart rate up a bit. I found that the accuracy really suffers though and it's very hard to get "perfects," usually when stepping off.(this is on a carpeted surface, hard surfaces may be just fine) So, I give it 3 stars for the "fun" factor and 4 for increasing the fitness level of the board.

I found this at Babies R Us for $18.78 so figured it was worth a shot. It assembles easily (a little trouble getting the screws to line up into the holes but other than that, it was a cinch--just four screws and it is assembled.)

Mine fits very snugly with the balance board--I am not sure I get what the poker chip is needed for (people have written about that in other reviews). I have only used it with the Sports Active step routine, and it is perfectly accurate every time. It definitely intensified my workout!

I was packing this item up to return it because of the accuracy issues. That's when I came across the top piece that I'd forgotten about. If you put it on and then place the WII balance board on top (rather than fitting it into the holes for the feet), it works perfectly. Whoda thunk? I expected those holes at the corners were for the feet of the balance board. This worked even on carpet. The only thing is it changes your weight. I lost 48lbs when I tried it the first way, then when I corrected it, I gained 10. Oh well. it works.

The step is a good addition to the wii active workout if you plan on using the step workouts frequently on "wii active/more workouts".

I gave it 3 stars because I think $20 is expensive for an item that only can be used for a small part of a game and it doesn't work well with all games that use it (like wii fit) but if you own or are buying "wii active" and want to take full advantage of the step workouts, then its worth it. Otherwise, pass and save your money to get another fitness type game to keep you motivated and focused.

I am on the "wii active/more workouts" 6 week challenge and use the custom step workout as my additional 10-30 minute cardio workout 3-4x a week.

It definitely increases the intensity of the workout but the calorie burn is not necessarily reflected, just the intensity...when using the step. I've done workouts without the step and it claims to burn the same amount of calories but its more difficult to maintain intensity without the step. But I know it's toning and a better workout, I just find the trainers a little smug when you're sweating to death and the screen registers you burning something like 30 calories...

I didn't have any problems with it wobbling or not fitting the balance board properly. And as for the accuracy of reading weight or moves wasn't any better or worse than the usual everyday wii gameplay. No matter what accessories or exercises I choose they all have their moments of reading info inaccurately or not registering moves which can be frustrating. Overall the step seems to work best with "wii active/more workouts" which includes a few step segments in the daily workouts and has custom workouts for 30 minute easy/moderate/fast step classes that measures 'intensity' versus 'perfects'.
