5.0 out of 5 stars Great for Adults
I have used this for martial arts sparing and the hole in the center makes it easy for breathing with the mouth piece in. It protects upper and lower well.

I lost my last mouthpiece. It was a single layer, and I have seen a lot of people with double layers, so I went out and bought both a Century single layer, and this Everlast double (only double in the store).

1.0 out of 5 stars Done with Everlast, December 12, 2007
I lost my last mouthpiece. It was a single layer, and I have seen a lot of people with double layers, so I went out and bought both a Century single layer, and this Everlast double (only double in the store).

Let me tell you, this thing is terrible. I spent around an hour trying to shape this thing, but it's just impossible. The distance between the front row and the back (where your teeth go) is wayyy too big. There's no way to form to both sides of your teeth... unless you have molars for your front teeth. This makes it impossible to make a solid fit, so unless you're always chomping down on it, it's going to fall out during sparring.

And yes, I did push with my tongue during forming (tried numerous times), but it's just too wide.

If that wasn't bad enough, there's not enough plastic to run all the way to your gums. This also means this thing is going to fall out the second you stop biting down. It also means it's poor protection.

The only thing they did right was the hole where you're suppose to breath through. Seems adequate.

So to wrap it up, this piece of junk is completely useless. Even if your mouth is small, this still wont work because there's no way to get it form to both side of your teeth.

At least I have that Century single layer one. That works fine.

1.0 out of 5 stars Horrible, August 13, 2010

Not only did it take me almost 30 minutes to get a sub par fit but training with it was really uncomfortable. Is very hard to breathe when using it.

I did not recommend this product.

2.0 out of 5 stars For the Kids only, July 11, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This is a decent mouthguard and has two very nice features; one it protects the upper and lower teeth and has a nice air vent to aid in mouth breathing but the main downfall is it is SMALL! Like very small, kid size only. Not recommended for teenage or adult males.

The description does not mention it is really a junior size but it is.

The only other downfall is that it does not come with a case so you will need to keep it in a ziplock or buy a container separately for it to keep it clean.

Its great and protects my mouth during mma. Only thing is its kind of small for my mouth but my mouth is kind of large. Also it kind of melts a little too much during boiling.

I really like this particular mouth guard as it protects booth the top and bottom teeth. It also had a hole in the front which allows for easy breathing.

Bought these for my daughter for karate sparring ... she has an oral herbst appliance and palate expander. A little modification to where she bites down and they fit perfectly while protecting her complete appliance.

2.0 out of 5 stars Maybe mine is the only one cheaply made?, June 5, 2009
Not exactly sure why there are so many good reviews about this mouth guard. For one, like one of the only previous bad reviews stated, it doesn't shape itself at all. This wasn't that big of a problem for me since it seemed to fit pretty well for what little amount it did form to fit my mouth. Anways, since I've never used a double mouth guard before I wanted to get used to it, so I decided not only to train with it on the mat and the ring (MMA of course), I also decided to run with it. This would help for me to get used to breathing with it. After about three weeks of use, the bottom guard started to get really flimsy...and actually tore on the inside. I'll be sticking with single mouth guards from now on.
