Quality Gloves,

These gloves are great for boxing. I have used them for over a month and they have held up well. I spend 8-10 boxing each week and they have shown to be very durable. I got the gloves in 16-ounce weight because that is required for sparring. After sparring with them for some time, they are much better than other gloves I have tried. The cushioning on these gloves is much better than my previous ones, so they're ideal for sparring.
As for bag work, the gloves have great wrist support. The fit is also perfect for me. Although the strap is very short, it is flexible. Overall, these gloves were a good investment and I'll hope to follow up after another few months of using them.

They're not leather, but they are an excellent glove for the money. The breathable palm section works well and the cushioning is great for protecting your knucks. If you're hitting the bag less than 5 hours a week, then these will do just fine.

Buy them ONLY if you want them as bag gloves,

From my experiences training with these gloves over a four month time span, I would say that they need to be classified solely as bag gloves and used only for that purpose. I purchased them to replace a pair of cheap gloves that I had been using for over a year and a half as an upgrade and treat for myself. Instead, for the first time in my life, I began having some significant pains in the joints of my hands and wrist following sparring and mitt work. Essentially, when I would work on a bag my hands would be fine, however any time the force of an opponent/partner was thrown in the mix, I was hurting and having to ice my hands and wrist.
I think the problem is that the evergel material, while cool and comfortable, just isn't giving enough support to sustain significant striking. If you're a fighter and want a GREAT bag glove, then go ahead and get them. But if you want sparring gloves or dual use, you're better off plunking down the extra change to get a different pair. Personally, I would go with Hayabusa or Bad Boy.

I go all out on the heavy bag 2 or 3 times a week for about 40 minutes a pop. Without gel, my knuckles get very sore and take a while to recover. I use TiGear 180" wraps with these gloves and I can hit as hard as I want without fear of hurting myself.
An alternative to these gloves would be gel "speed wraps" or pads under conventional wraps with a regular leather bag glove. Personally I find these gloves very convenient and they are big enough to allow me to experiment with different wrap combinations and techniques. I think these gloves are great but no glove will protect your hand if you don't put your wraps on properly underneath. Watch youtube videos if you don't know how to put on wraps. I can't comment on the durability or if they're good for sparring but they seem well made and I don't see why they wouldn't last as long as any other well made bag glove. Definitely a good value.

Best Wrist support an hand support one could ask for, hitting heavy bag is easy now, most of gel is in top part where you Actually hit the bag

I bought these boxing gloves about 2 months ago, and they are awesome! You're going to get super sweaty boxing regardless of the gloves you use, but the mesh palms allow it to dry fast, and they don't smell at all yet (which is a very good thing, bc gloves start to smell AWFUL). They have a lot of support in the wrist as well, which has been a problem for me in the past with other gloves - even other Everlast gloves. And lastly, the gel in the front of the gloves absorb the impact of landed punches well and I no longer get blood lines beneath the skin between my knuckles.

I received a free pair of Everlast pro training gloves from my boxing gym and I must say that these Everlast Gel gloves are way better in comparison. I haven't had any bad wrist issues and I think what really helps is that these gloves absorb impact very well. Every time I punch the heavy bag it feels like I can hit it harder without hurting my hand. They are like pillows on my hands, but still allow for a controlled punch. I haven't tried to use these gloves for sparring yet, but I can assume they would be good for it with the absorbing padding and all against your partner.
The Evercool and Everdri technology, or whatever they want to call it, seems to work well. I don't know about drying time, but they're definitely a lot more breathable than the Everlast pro training gloves. Considerations: Overall great glove, but I've only been using them for 2 weeks and haven't had any durability issues. Not that a few popped seams would bug me anyways (i think it builds character) as others have complained about. Another thing to look out for is that the area below the knuckles tends to absorb a good amount of impact rather than the knuckles, but after a little breaking in it went away. Also the Velcro strap doesn't go all the way around the wrist of the glove which is a little awkward, but it straps pretty tight. Make sure to wrap you hands well and go off on that bag with these.

I recently up graded from the black Everlast training mitts that were 20 dollars. Such a remarkable improvement. My hands feel completely supported and protected while wearing these, I have a far more satisfying workout on the heavy bag. I would no more go back to my cheap gloves now than I would run 10 miles in flip flops! You can really focus on your technique as you have the confidence your hands are protected. Get what you pay for!

These gloves work really well to absorb my pressure when doing kick boxing. I have used them for some time now and they still work amazing. I would recommend this type of glove for those who are interested in pursuing kick boxing/boxing activities.

I have been boxing for exercise for a few years now and have had a hard time finding gloves that work for me. I mostly hit heavy-bag so I needed good heavy-gloves. Over the course of 6 months I have burned through 3 other pairs of gloves.
I saw these on sell and thought I would give them a try.... I was very surprised. Everlast did a nice job with these training gloves. Get a pair and try them for yourself. |
