I am thouroughly pleased with these weighted gloves. Although they are only 1 lb each, they are a perfect addition to my Tae Bo workouts. They're a great tool to add to any workout... cardio or toning. The palms are open, keeping the rest of the glove dry while you're working out. I was so pleased with the price also, other gloves that I priced were over $20 / pair. If anyone is sitting on the fence trying to decide whether or not to purchase them... don't question yourself anymore!

I bought these to use with the KenpoX program in P90X Extreme Home Fitness Workout Program - 13 DVDs, Nutrition Guide, Exercise Planner. It is a decent workout but not nearly intense enough. I kind of scoffed at the idea of wearing gloves that added a measly 1 pound to each hand, but bought them based on other reviews here. I couldn't believe what a difference they made. I was actually sore the day after my workout and could tell the gloves were the cause. Even though the weight is small, the extra weight not only provides some resistance, but causes you to use other connecting muscles in your shoulders and arms so that you can control the weight while you punch (instead of just throwing your arms out). I guess the best way to describe it would be to tell you to put a 16oz soft drink in each hand and try punching vigorously with them for 30 seconds. Now immediately open one of them up and have a sip of that refreshing cola, you've earned it! Go ahead, I'll wait.

Oh man, I can't believe you fell for that! Sorry, I couldn't resist. But anyway, they really made a difference in my workout. The gloves are made of neoprene and feel good in my hands. The velcro straps keep them tight so they're not flailing around, and they feel like part of my hands. I sweat a lot during kenpo, but had no problems with them sliding around at all. Plus, they look really cool and make me feel like Jean Claude Van Damme in Kickboxer. I've thought about dipping my gloves in resin and then rolling them around in crushed glass like he does in the film, but I am not sure what effect that would have on the durability of the neoprene so I will hold off for now.

The Everlast Weighted Gloves are excellent! The palm of each hand is left exposed so that when the palms sweat, the wearer does not have to be concerned with sweaty gloves. Even though they are only two pounds, they are the perfect weight for a walking exercise program.
