The high cost of flameless candles has kept me from purchasing them so when I saw these I was thrilled at the value. The remote control feature is what sold me on these candles since even the pricier candles sold at retail don't generally come with a remote. The remote control works when you switch the candles to the on position and it easily turns them all on and off. What they don't tell you is that when the candles are off, but the switch stays in the on position, the battery is still being drained. Therefore, the batteries in all 6 of my candles are now dead after only 3 weeks on my wall. So although the remote is a novel idea, having to manually switch the candles on and off before and after using the remote defeats the purpose all together. The brightness is only fair on these candles but they do look fairly realistic when on and off.

I absolutely LOVE these! I was looking for a couple of "smaller" type candles that would fit in the sconces on my wall that I can't reach without a chair. I wanted something that I would not have to touch to turn on and off.

When I began the search I was suprised to find that the smaller candles that would fit in my scones did not have a "timer" option to turn on the same time every day and then automatically turn off after 4, 6 to 8 hours.

I was so happy when I found these but leary of the remote control. When I received them I was so happy with the setup! I like them better than the auto timer. They look really nice and I can easily turn them on and off with the remote whenever I want.

The batteries last a really long time too. Well worth the price.

These candles are a good idea, and they are beautiful "off". However, when they are turned on they do not resemble a real flame and seem very orangy and fake. Also, other remotes besides the remote it comes with (ie TV remotes, etc) seem to power them on and off - not a happy feature.

These candles are very artificial looking and look really, really orange when lit ... not remotely natural looking. Don't go by the picture of them displayed on Amazon, which makes them appear to have a nice yellowish glow ... I repeat, they candles are very orange and fake-looking when lit.

I thought these candles would be great in a fireplace display. Even though they were not "on" for more than 30 minutes, I found the remote would not work a week later.

I purchased these candles to put on top of my fireplace which is fairly high. The only problem is that we have a TV in the same room. When we use the remote for the TV, it also will turn on one, two or all three of these candles even when it's daylight. Our solution is to leave the candles permanently "off", then switch the on button before company comes over so we can later in the evening use the remote to turn the candles on.

Yes they are a little orange but I have not come across any flameless candles that arent. Remote works great, use them all the time. I have had them for about 3 weeks now, kept them on since I received them and have not had any problems with the batteries yet.

Flameless and Odorless candles are wonderful, and there are many brands/configurations available. The MOST wonderful aspect of these battery-operated candles is the Remote-Control.
I purchased 3 sets, as a gift for my sister, to be used in her master bedroom fireplace. The other two fireplaces in her "new" (to her) home came fitted with gas log "equipment." She had placed a wrought iron candleholder in the empty fireplace, with real pillar candles. These candles would have been very safe to burn in a fireplace, of course, but one would have needed to get "down on bended knee" to light and extinguish them. Being able to "turn-them-on-and-off" from ACROSS THE ROOM is a wonderful alternative.
I only wish that MORE sizes/shapes/set-alternatives were available. I purchased three sets of 3-3" Pillars, and I see that the same manufacturer also has a set of 3 Pillars in three sizes/heights. I would purchase singles-or-pairs in other sizes if they were offerred.

2 of them worked out of the box 1 was a dud replaced batteries still not working....back to amazon ordering another set hope they all work....they were nice.

I received two sets (6 total candles)yesterday. All six candles worked right out of the boxes, so no problem there. The remote works perfectly. The candles themselves look very realistic when turned off and seem to be made of high quality materials. Everything is great, except for the light given off from the candles is more orange than yellow. A bigger concern for me is that the light is not very bright compared to a normal candle. I have to have almost all my lights turned off to even notice that the candles are "burning." But overall, you get exactly what is described and I'm pretty happy with my purchase.
