4.0 out of 5 stars Another great love story by Bette Ford.
Here we experience the story of Devin Prescott, who we first got a glimpse of in Bette Ford's "Unforgettable", and Brynne. They fell quickly and deeply in love a few years before the setting of this story. After a minor argument, Brynne runs away and Devin never hears from her again, leaving him extremely hurt and confused. Devin's pride got in his way of seeking her...

3.0 out of 5 stars A good read
This is a my first Bette Ford book and it will not be my last. Ms Ford is an exceptional writer with a flare for great, hot love scenes. Brynne and Devin's tragic history is heartwrenching-true enough-however, the book suffers from a serious case of redundancy. Motivations, histories are repeatedly rehashed--not to mention Shanna just completely disappears in the third...

Devin's pride got in his way of seeking her out, while a tragic secret has kept Brynne away from anything associated with her painful past, including Devin. After being dragged to a party by a friend, Brynne unexpectedly comes face to face with Devin and her past. As secrets unfold, Brynne and Devine must decide if their brief but intense love affair will be rekindled.

Getting a chance to catch up with character's from Ford's previous novel including Anna and Gavin Mathis and all the lovable characters in the Prescott family was a like a long overdue family reunion. Completely apart from the riches, theirs is a family many would long to have. Only minor issues with the book kept me from giving it five stars. This includes the author's repetitive use of some phrases - for example I thought if I read about Devin clenching his jaw as if he was grinding his teeth once more I would scream - and also the fact the book gets rather slow in parts and then climaxes to an end that felt a bit rushed. All in all, I'm a big Bette Ford fan and am pleased with her continuation of the Prescott saga. I look forward to her next installment and would highly recommend this story to anyone looking for a satisfying romantic read.

Also if you haven't read the story of Anna Prescott and Gavin Mathis in "Unforgettable" I'd recommend that as a very pleasant read as well.

4.0 out of 5 stars Bette Ford is the best- An everlasting talent, April 9, 2005
This review is from: Everlasting Love, An (Mass Market Paperback)
I had to stop and write a few words about the newest Bette Ford Book. As a huge fan I must say that I was not dissapointed and it was well worth the wait for this book- she has done a wonderful job again. An everlasting love is the story of Brynn and Devin who find their way back together after being passionately in love some years back. After Brynn has run away from Devin with a devastating secret she must now face the music and talk to Devin about some sensitive things from her past. Without giving the premise of the story away, Ford tackles some serious subject matter in a skillful way and reunites these lovers as they so deserve. Ford shows a forgiving, sensitive, and upstanding man in Devin and she also shows a woman of substance, strength, and a survivor in Brynne-together they create an everlasting love that will make you want to fall in love all over again.

4.0 out of 5 stars intense second chance at love, April 10, 2005
This review is from: Everlasting Love, An (Mass Market Paperback)
In Detroit, Shepperd's Women Crisis Center Counselor Laura Murdock persuades her best friend counselor Brynne Armstrong to come with her to former NBA player Ralph Prescott's birthday party. Though she would prefer to spend time with her preschool daughter Shanna, Brynne agrees.

St. Louis Rams star quarterback Devin Prescott attends his cousin Ralph's party, but is bored until Brynne enters. After only seeing her profile he knows she is the woman he loved four years ago, but she dumped him without a look back. Brynne is stunned to see the man she loved, but ran away from like a coward after he proposed.

Brynne worries that one day Shanna will want to know about her father; that final night she made love with Devin, but was raped afterward by one of his friends, either could be Shanna's sire. Brynne asks Devlin to take a paternity test; he angrily agrees but refuses to listen about the other guy. When the test proves he is the father, Brynne agrees to let him into Shanna's life. As a three year old plays matchmaker, her parents realize they still love one another, but he refuses to listen to what happened.

The latest Prescott family tale is an entertaining romance with a darker yet deeper undercurrent than the previous UNFORGETTABLE novel. Though some readers will insist that Brynne should have turned to her beloved following the rape, others will feel she was over the edge emotionally with the recent deaths of her parents, the fight with Devin, and the rape. All will agree that Bette Ford provides an intense second chance at love story fostered by a precious (perhaps too precocious) little matchmaker

5.0 out of 5 stars WOW! TEARS OF JOY, November 27, 2005
By
This review is from: Everlasting Love, An (Mass Market Paperback)
I simply loved this book, I don't know how Bette Ford keeps putting out such great love stories. This story starts off at a party Brynne Armstrong and Devin Prescott are both at, one look at her and Devin realize he is still in love with her now as much as he had been in love four years ago. Brynne quickly leaves the party to return to her true joy (her daughter). Devin finds her, and from there the story really takes off. Brynne has been blaming herself for not only leaving her true love four years ago, but for a incident that happen. Bette Ford showed some of the best writing ever, I felt for Brynne and I felt Devin pain. Devin showed what a real man is, also that sex is not as important as LOVE. Devin was gentle, caring, loving and most of all patient. I finished the book in a day. I am so glad I read this book. Bette Ford raised the bar for men everywhere. I thank you.

I love Bette Ford! Why can't they all write like this I couldn't wait until this came out. I was not disappointed.

Devin and Brynne were torn apart years ago by a devasting tragedy when a chance encounter at a social event brings them back in contact with one another.

Without spoilers, I thought that both Devin's reactions and Brynne's pain were very real. This was the perfect romance with enough passion and enough character growth to have me re-reading it again a week after I bought it. Dialogue = EXCELLENT! Family (supporting cast) = EXCELLENT! Friends (supporting cast) = EXCELLENT. Storyline= EXCELLENT! My only complaint is that in the confrontation scene at the end I expected a different reaction from Devin. But in hindsight it was handled appropriately.

I wonder who Ralph's going to end up with? I can't wait. Thank you for taking time with your craft and rewarding my inner booklover. EXCELLENT JOB!

A recommendation to all go grab this book and her others -you WON'T be disappointed.

4.0 out of 5 stars Impressed, June 28, 2006
This review is from: Everlasting Love, An (Mass Market Paperback)
I would give this 4.5 stars if I could, not quite 5 stars cos I thought the end did seem a bit rushed, as in lets wrap this up quickly. But well if there is a real life Devin on this planet to be so patient during an intimate moment under such tragic circumstances then I want him! lol This was a good story with great characters about a very tragic matter for any woman and her man to deal with, but I think it was well handled in this book

4.0 out of 5 stars Soulmates, March 23, 2011

Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
These Prescott men are really one of a kind. Brynne and Devin really were soulmates. A tragedy bought joy into Brynne's life, and a chance encounter with her ex brought them back together again to finally solidify their family. These two had undeniable chemistry, and I really enjoyed how everything played out. I am glad that Bette Ford held the truth in for a while, it made the story even better. This is a great 2nd book in the Prescott trilogy.
