This is one of the best HC Cds ever!,

I bought this CD with high hopes and I was not disappointed. Refused have so much talent and originality! They are the kind of band that you can point to when someone says "Hardcore bands can't play". The songwriting is awesome - they mix it up with time changes, fast parts, breakdowns, harmonics and all sorts of other cool stuff. Lastly, this CD just plain rocks! If you like Helmet, Snapcase or other groove oriented HC - buy this!

A jewel in the crown of greatness,

Refused was an amazing band. It almost shocks me to death that they are on the same label as lame ass bands like Fairweather and Coheed and Cambria. But anyways I'll preach about that some other time, let me preach about Refused. People too often forget about thier fore fathers, the ones who pioneered the path on which they now follow. People today will buy a Saves The Day cd and forget that Sunny Day Real Estate is a better band. People will buy a From Autumn To Ashes cd and forget that Black Flag is a million times better. Refused is one such band. This band was great, they played hardcore music in a way that was never thought possible, they had great lyrics and they just rocked. This is the start though of course it isn't even as good as Future of Punk to Come, it is the begining and still is downright awesome. It's too bad they broke and the members went on to make some pretty wack music, but in the meanwhile let's be glad they made this.

refused are good no matter what way you look at it. they tore it up on every album they put out.. everlasting didnt sound like songs to fan the flames of discontent, but it is equally as good.. ive listened to these guys for a few years now and they are one of the more influential bands around.. many bands credit refused as some form of inspiration.. they are good hardcore, and they are too good to be classified as punk..

I loved refused's masterpiece The shape of punk to come(who doesn't). that album was one of the most original albums without actually creating a genre. Anyway i had high hopes that this album would be as good. it isn't. however its not bad. Everlasting and i am not me are especially good. However the first two tracks aren't as strong as rest. I like it better than Songs to fan the flames of discontent and it is better than the 'new' hardcore that i have heard. there are lots of tempo changes, harmonic lead lines and other complexities. i would recommend Shape of punk to come to anyone and everlasting to anyone who likes hardcore.
