About the Author

C.J. Archer has loved history and books for as long as she can remember and feels fortunate that she found a way to combine the two with her historical romances. Under her other name of Carolyn Scott, she has published contemporary short stories in women’s magazines on two continents including Take A Break, Woman’s Day and That’s Life. She has at various times worked as a librarian, IT support person and technical writer but in her heart has always been a fiction writer. She has won and placed in romance writing contests including winning RWAustralia’s Emerald Award in 2008 for the manuscript which she went on to self-publish under the title Honor Bound. C.J. spent her early childhood in the dramatic beauty of outback Queensland, Australia, but now lives in suburban Melbourne with her husband and two children. She loves to hear from readers. 5.0 out of 5 stars Keeper December 7, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
As I opened the first page of Evermore; I have to admit that I was a bit nervous because I cheated a little and read the first chapter of Evermore at the end of the second book, Possession.I was compelled. I couldn't stop. So I knew that something was happening to the ghosts and the Waiting Room, Otherworld and, heaven forbid, Jacob. I was hoping Emily and their friends could save poor Jacob and the other ghosts but I was afraid that I would be grieving Jacob's crossover or even his total disappearance. Would Jacob cease to exist? Would Emily lose her true love?
I loved the series from beginning to end. I have to admire CJ Archer's creative mind to have produced such an enjoyable series. I was not disappointed from the first page of The Medium to the last page of Evermore. Captivated is not a strong enough word.
This series truly is a Keeper so make room on your shelf for 3 more books. (Time to buy a new shelf)

5.0 out of 5 stars sadly the last book March 5, 2014
By Diane
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
The last in a really nice set of three books that are aimed at teens but are also a really nice read for the older reader too, especially one that isn't looking for naked flesh and hot and heavy moments.
Its a little predictable in places but the reader has a sense of that from the start of the first book, this is not a book to keep you up at night checking under your bed or in your cupboard for ghosts and ghouls.
Its a really nice story historical, ghost, love story with a little bit of death, drama and mayhem added in for good measure and an attempt at suspense.
If you are looking for a well written story that is enchanting and interesting and not the usual with interesting characters and an ending that leaves you feeling that the story was concluded at the right point and the writer has not tried to stretch it out to make another book then you cannot go wrong with the Emily Chambers books really very enjoyable.

5.0 out of 5 stars Emily Chambers, Spirit Medium trilogy September 23, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I think this was supposed to be considered YA, however, I thoroughly enjoyed this series! The characters were well written and believable. The only problem I had was it all ended too soon. Also, I am not a prude, but there's only so much sex I can read about before I start paging through just to get back to the story. So, a love story (with actual STORY) on so many levels. Thank you, Ms Archer. More please??

5.0 out of 5 stars The best kind of ending to a great series December 7, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Hooked on this series from the very first book, I was anxiously awaiting this last book in the trilogy. CJ Archer did not disappoint as the characters I've enjoyed getting to know all come together to solve this latest and most horrifying event that is causing the ghosts she normally can summon and speak to weaken and fade away right before her eyes. Even Jacob, the ghost Emily is trying to forget, may be in danger of disappearing completely out of her life.

Despite the fact the fact that she's determined to move on with life and love, Emily can't help but want to solve the mystery of why and how this is happening, especially when she finds out how this newest danger can affect them all. We find out all is not what it seems and people are not always what they appear.

I loved the way this series brings each character to life, letting you get to know them so that you are really rooting for them. I thoroughly enjoyed the journey...right through to the very end.

5.0 out of 5 stars An Excellent End to a Brilliant Series! April 18, 2015
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
This book is the last of a 3 book series. These books are about a young English Victorian woman who is a medium who talks to spirits. If you have not read the other books in this series, do not start with this one! Find the author's 'The Medium' book which is the first of the series. It is currently free for Kindle readers. After you have read that book, you can purchase the whole series including this book as a set and save yourself $2 over buying each book individually like I did. I have thoroughly enjoyed this series from start to finish. It is an excellent series mostly due to the very likeable protagonist, Emily Chambers.

This book starts almost exactly where the last one ended. Emily is still hopelessly and desperately in love with a very handsome gentleman ghost. The ghost is Jacob Beaufort. He is a well titled son of a Lord and he is in very serious trouble. The waiting room where spirits wait before heading to their respective afterlife is under attack. Spirits are disappearing and they are not making it to the after world. Emily must figure out who is responsible for this attack and stop them before the waiting room disappears completely taking Jacob with it.

Once again, Emily is intelligent, loyal, spunky and brave. She takes on both the establishment who are accusing her of being a fraud and the nefarious element out to destroy the man/ghost she loves the most. She once again assisted by her friend, George, a demonologist, her sister, Celia, her young Aunt, Cara, and Jacob's mother and sister. She is still having trouble with Lord Beaufort and she learns more about her family. And her alive beau, Theo, is giving her mixed signals. A great read from start to finish and it leaves you guessing on how it is going to end.
