Everpure H-300 Replacement Cartridge

The Good: The water filter works well. The water tastes great and is an economical and eco-friendly alternative from bottle water.

The Bad: Although I received a competitive price for this replacement filter on my Everpure H300 system at Amazon, I needed two plumbers and practically three weeks of badgering to Everpure to get a new head for my filtration unit that was not accepting the replacement filter. The older (3-4 years+) heads on the Everpure units are poorly engineered. The newer heads are significantly better.

The Ugly: Everpure does not have a protocol or any policy to recycle their used filters. I called the company's headquarters and was told to throw the used filter in the garbage. Everpure provides a healthly alternative to tap water for the home and office. That's great. But they are far from being an environmentally sustainable company. Their filters have been absorbing heavy metals, toxins and whatever else may be in the tap water over a long period of time. It is unacceptable to have a policy by default that their used filters be thrown into the waste stream. I will be following up with Everpure's management on this issue...

Although these cartridges are expensive, they actually last far longer than recommended. With a family of two adults, our cartridge lasts about 2.5 to 3 years. I have had this system in other homes I have lived inn and will continue to install one when we move again.

I've had an Everpure filter on our household drinking water for almost 20 years. I recently ordered a replacement filter cartridge. I found that my model was discontinued, but that the H-300 would fit.
When I tried to remove the old cartridge, it was stuck. I called Everpure for some tips, and, instead of selling me a new unit, they sent me one free of charge!
It installed easily and works great.

Great tasting water, dead simple to install and maintain, but it can get clogged very easily such that water flow slows to a very low rate ie. 15 mins/gal!

After two weeks the filter slowed to a nearly unusable flow rate. I found out that this is because it has a small micron filter and any sediment that comes into the filter will begin to clog it. So, if they dig up a pipe around you and some dirt flows in your filter, or if you have a bit heavy sediment the flow will be greatly reduced to the point of being useless.

So far it seems you need to also install a prefilter to prevent this.

I've been using this system for our 4 person family for over 4 years. While the filters are pricey, Amazon sells them for about the best price around. The filter comes with a one year battery powered alarm, however this may not be the best indicator since the longevity of the filter depends on the rate you use your water not the number of months that pass. It would be nice if Everpure had a gallon meter on the dispenser - THAT would be accurate! Overall excellent product.

IF you need a filter for your water dispenser, get it here ... i did a lot of cost comparisons and this was the most cost effective. if you need this particular one, there's only one you can use and i found that the prices are all over the place. not only did i get free shipping - and a REMINDER service for when to replace it (no additional charge), i saved OVER $50 by buying this via amazon.com vs. the local retailer in my area ... this was a no brainer! thank you!

This filter is a long lasting charcoal filter that serves our family well. It is a bit ricky to install.

We've had an Everpure system for over 10 years and my only complaint is that the cartridges are a little tricky to change out.

The Everpure replacement cartridge works quite well. It just takes a few tries to install. The critical point is seating the cartridge so that the locking mechanism on the cartridge holder is engaged. Otherwise water will leak. For those like me who are all thumbs, just try a few times until you get it.

I installed this replacement filter when it arrived (~5 days), I was disappointed with the flow rate, it was about a quarter of the old one! When I called EverPure (800)323-7873 I was expecting a salesperson to send me another one in about two weeks. Instead I was switched to a live technician that walked me through a simple fix and improved the flow to the best it has ever been. Great customer service!
