4.0 out of 5 stars Some Good Information
For those who have read "Guess What Came to Dinner", this book adds another small but important layer to solving bug problems. It also provides info about a lot of products the author is selling, but I believe she is on the right track. You will certainly take a fiber supplement after reading this book. 80% Clear and Counting

2.0 out of 5 stars Informative, BUT
This book has very detailed information on ALL sorts of parasites. It really made me aware of how many are around and IN me!
BUT it really leaves no remedy to rid yourself of these nasty things except to buy the line of supplements sold by the author's company. And they are expensive!
I was dissapointed that there were no other supplement reccomendations...

5.0 out of 5 stars Parasite Removal and more! Solution? read here, April 19, 2004
By
"emagix2" (Rocky Mount, North Carolina) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Every Body Has Parasites (Paperback)
Since someone had asked for solution / options for parasite removal ..here is something useful to readers....

I was researching for a solution for a while...only recently I found a source which comes recommended by Global Institute for Alternative Medicine. Go to DrNatura.com. Read up on their testimonials. I did for about 4 hours. and was totally hooked and ordered mine....Read up and compare. Make your own decisions. Look out for competitive products which has the bark "Cascara Sagrada Bark" which is not recommended by lots of nutritionists as it causes unwanted diarrhea etc. Here is a warning from one product which contains Cascara...
"Warnings
This product contains Cascara Sagrada. Read and follow directions carefully. Do not use if you have or develope diarrhea, loose stools, or abdominal pain because Cascara Sagrada may worsen these conditions and be harmful to your health. Consult your physician if you have frequent diarrhea or if you are pregnant, nursing, taking medication, or have a medical condition "

So please do your own research. But I found that DrNatura.com had lots of help where the 1-800 number helps with a human person. ask questions. this is your health. DrNatura.com number is 1-800-877-0414. Why am I taking the time to write this? I dont work for them or in anyway associated. However, I wish someone had mentioned them to me earlier in my life. I just wanted to pass on the information and save you time and possibly your life (by preventing colon cancer and other sickness). Afterall this is a Circle of Life where we help each other

good luck

B Happy

2.0 out of 5 stars Without worms we get autoimmune disease, allergies and asthma, March 9, 2010
By
Karen Vaughan "Herblady" (Park Slope, Brooklyn, NY USA) - See all my reviews
(VINE VOICE)    (REAL NAME)
This review is from: Every Body Has Parasites (Paperback)
Humans evolved over time together with bacteria, yeasts and worms and we are interdependent colonies walking around in a human superstructure. Only 10%, not a typo, of the cells in your body are human. Heck, even the mitochondria that power your cells from the inside have their own DNA. While human cells are larger, the smaller organisms are far more numerous. The question isn't whether you have "parasites" but whether they are out of balance.

The word "parasite" shows our attitude towards even benign worms ("helminths") that live in our bodies. We don't like worms, which we usually only notice if they are in overgrowth. They are ugly and primitive. Commensuals (which merely inhabit us) or Symbionts (which benefit us) might be better terms.

Of course there are harmful worms which tax our organs or nutrient supply or which burrow into areas where they are dangerous. Or are itchy and contagious like pinworms. But not all worms fit this definition. We have larger symbiotic organisms along with our probiotic gut and skin bacteria that are necessary to human health. You don't want to kill all of them.

I have a long article "Why A Parasite Cleanse Can Make You Worse" at [...] on how certain worms, bacteria, yeasts and other organisms are necessary to your health.

Hookworms and pig whipworms are being given by doctors to heal chronic allergic or autoimmune conditions including ulcerative colitis, celiac and Crohn's (72-100% remission- better than drugs with fewer side effects). Hookworms are also useful for asthma, eczema, possibly heart disease, and other autoimmune conditions.

Most people have heard of the Hygiene Hypothesis which shows that children not exposed to dirt, bacteria and other organisms do not stimulate their immune system enough and get more disease. Our immune system has two major branches (that we know about): TH1 and TH2. Parasites and intracellular antigens trigger the TH1 branch of the immune system while extracellular allergens like food allergies trigger the TH2 branch. If your body doesn't have enough TH1 stimulation, the TH2 may go into overdrive causing autoimmune disease.

If you are malnourished, continuously get reinfected or show symptoms, then you might have an overgrowth and you may need treatment. There are good western pharmaceutical, Chinese medicine and western herbal treatments for parasites. They tend to be bitter and cooling, so if you "run cold" most of the time and have been actually diagnosed with bad parasites, see a professional who can choose the proper formula or give you advice about what to take with it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Do It Yourself, February 28, 2011
This review is from: Every Body Has Parasites (Paperback)
I am eating pumpkin seeds, black walnut, wormwood and cloves. The first night I ate pumpkin seeds I felt nauseated, (the parasites were dying off). The cloves gave off a warming sensation, which I liked. Drink lots of liquids and I also took herbal laxative that does not give me diarrhea. You just have to find out what works best for you personally. If you take the time to research and shop, you can do this cleanse with little money. Don't buy expensive products. I am making up my own tincture by taking vodka, adding black walnut and wormwood herbs into a large jar. Let this sit for 4 weeks, then strain. Use a dropper and put a few drops into a drink each day. Also, you can put it into your dog/cat water. God has provided to us all that we need and He does not want us to spend alot of our hard earned money to keep us well. Prayer does work and He will show you how to stay healthy without spending alot of money. I am also making up some to give away at an assisted living where I live. They allow residents to have their cats and dogs and hopefully this will keep the parasites from infecting residents.

1.0 out of 5 stars BS, May 16, 2011
This review is from: Every Body Has Parasites (Paperback)
no vitamins, no miracle products, no nothing will prevent you to have parasites, They are very "intelligent" and believe me is very difficult to get rid of these things. If someone tries to sell product saying that you have parasites inside is BS!!!! I am Parasitologist and this is just marketing with public fear

4.0 out of 5 stars Good info but she is really promoting her products, June 12, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Every Body Has Parasites (Paperback)
Good info BUT it seemed like she wrote the book just so she could promote her product line. At the end of the book was a chapter of testimonies about her great products then another chapter that was a long list of her products.

There are a few helpful lists of what to eat and what not to eat if you are serious about avoiding/preventing parasites, so since I only paid a few dollars for this book used, those lists were worth what I paid for the book.

One of the more interesting books I have read regarding internal parasites. Makes you stop and think. I think everyone should read this in grammar school and then again later in life.
