Where can you find songs recorded by Streisand, Springsteen, Cher, Sting, Little Richard and Bob Dylan - and a whole lot more - which you can play for your whole family AND help a very worthwhile cause at the same time? This is the CD to do it with! Most - if not all - of the 18 tracks have been issued before on the For Our Children series whose proceeds go to the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation. But the best of the best is gathered here. Shout Factory was able to license the rights for these tracks from many different labels and the mix is great! Luther Vandross singing "Puff the Magic Dragon"! Bruce Springsteen singing to kids about eating their veggies! And a great Brian Wilson track ("Country Feelin's") Sure, you've heard some before - like James Taylor & Carly Simon' duet of "Mockingbird" and Little Richard rocking "Itsy Bitsy Spider" but when packed together and slipped in the family car's CD player, those long trips with the kids will be so much more fun.

I've pressed "shuffle play" each time I've played this disc and it sounds newer and fresher each time.

"Anything Phonographic"

We love this CD. My kids are 8 and 10 and so over most of the kids music we have. They love this one. My son loves Bruce Springsteen's "Mama's Soup Surprise" and my daughter loves Over the Rainbow, and my personal favorites are Natalie Merchant's "Come Take a Trip in My Airship" and "Child of Mine" by Caroll King. Really great music to help you appreciate your own beautiful children, AND it supports a very worthwhile cause.

I love, love, love this CD. I am a second grade teacher and I often play music in my classroom during downtime or seatwork. I stumbled across this CD as I was randomling searching for something different to listen to for children and I am so glad I did. The songs are enjoyable for both boys and girls and I find that when they are not in my room I listen to it on my own. It is great because it combines some old classics like This Old Man and The Itsy Bitsy Spider with new music they are unfamiliar with. The variety of talented artists performing these songs is amazing....Jackson Browne and Jennifer Warnes performance of Golden Slumber as well as Carole King singing Child of Mine are some of my favorites, however I enjoy them all!!! This is a must buy:)

Recently I went looking for a CD version of a tape I had when I was little. After a lot of searching I found this CD, however I did not look at the track list. Although this CD is the right title and it has SOME of the songs I was looking for it also had a lot of songs I didn't recognize and they kept jerking me out of nostalgia. It turns out the actual CD I want is the For Our Children: 10th Anniversary Edition. I don't understand why the track list was changed, but I hope this review might help other people that are looking for the old track list.

My kids love this cd and it has positive songs that I like to listen to also. Plus when buying it you are helping out with pediatric aids research.

I bought this CD hoping it would help keep my 9 month old calm and occupied during our long commute in the car each day. It does! And, my husband and I also love the music because some of it is really unique. Highlights are Seal's Puff the Magic Dragon (puts him to sleep almost instantly) and Natalie Merchant's Come Take a Trip in My Airship. My son loves when I dance with him to that song.

There are 3 or 4 tracks that we dislike, but the rest make up for those.

I had this in a tape from when my children were younger and wanted it for my grandaughter. The songs are sung by great artists with a bit of a twist on the arrangement. It's a cd that parents don't mind listening to for hours.
