5.0 out of 5 stars If you like celtic music, you'll like this..., March 16, 2004

The Fenians claim they are "Southern California's finest traditional/contemporary Irish band". I have to say that I don't think they are the finest in Southern California. I think they are the finest in all North America.

The music is high energy, traditional Irish with a whole slew of other influences (rock, funk, and awesome saxaphone). The Fenians are an awesome band that pushes the boundaries of folk and celtic music. This great album combines old, new and new interpretations. The songs are the right mix of traditional, contemporary traditional and originals that will bring a smile to your face (Bakers Dozen), a tear to your eye (Grace) and wet your lips for another glass of Paddy (Token Whiskey Song).

The vocals are perfect as most of the band sings, as opposed to having one front man. I dare you to listen to Chris, their drummer, singing "Grace" with those beautiful pipes of his, and not shed a tear!

My favorite is "From Clare to Here" with its laid back saxophone and "Every day's a Hooley" with its reggae undertones.

Definately, if you have a chance, get this cd!

5.0 out of 5 stars Beloved Music, March 19, 2004

I have been a fan for a long time, and I can say that all you hear is true.....the cd's are great, but the live shows are an unbelievable party of die hard fans. I listen to at least some Fenians everyday, and I own all the cd's. Being the lover of music that I am, I feel my life has been truly enriched with the bounty the Fenians have placed before me. You are missing out on a great experience and a new favorite if you do not buy this right now!!

1.0 out of 5 stars The were once great., September 16, 2004

I have to say that I have spent many a night with the Fenian's at the Harp in enjoying their music. I had even gotten to the point of buying their new CD's without question. Until this one. Listening to it I felt like I was listening to the Fenian's half asleep. They do still rock in concert and I highly recomend all their other albums, but this one can be skipped. Rob please come out of retirement and join the band again!!
