"Boys Gone Wild" at a Northern CA frathouse!,

This review is from: Every Frat Boy Wants It (Paperback)
Jeff Morgan is an eighteen college freshman, fresh from a small Kansas town, trying to find his way at a state university in Northern California. Jeff is also gay, and daydreaming in class about a unrequitted crush he had on a classmate back home, when he meets personable and confident Blair Branchard, handsome son of two Hollywood movie actors. Blair has more than a friendly attraction to Jeff, and helps him pledge for his fraternity on campus, getting him through numerous pledge contests - most of which read like a homoerotic "boys gone wild" with drugs and booze - as well as the inevitable "hell night". During this time, Blair and Jeff develop their sexual relationship, with Jeff somewhat insecure as to whether Blair is really fond of him or just using him for sex, as many of the "straight" brothers in the frat occasionally do when there is no willing female partner and they are drunk/stoned enough. Jeff tests their limits by having sex with other frat brothers, with mixed results from Blair. Eventually, a trip to Blair's father's house in Palm Springs, and the chance to appear in a gay porn film, bring Jeff to a point in his life where he fears he may have to leave Blair behind.
The author's (supposed) debut novel, although a little detective work by any dedicated reader can reveal that this is actually the work of one of the genre's best-known and respected authors, working under a pseudonym. Keep a bucket of cold water handy, for this HOT sexually-explicit "coming of age" tale, in which Jeff matures into a self-confident, ambitious gay man. An entertaining, well-written diversion, which I give four stars out of five.

Poorly Written, But Still HOT!,
By
This review is from: Every Frat Boy Wants It (Paperback)
I, like many others I assume, judged this book by its cover. For the expectations set by that, I was not disappointed. This book delivers if you're looking for a steamy, sultry, fantasies-come-true story involving the sexcapades of a fraternity pledge and its members. It's so hot, in fact, that I stayed up until 5am in the morning just so I could finish the book in one sitting.
I was disappointed by the "new" author's lack of literary skill, particularly the inability to tie a whole story's worth of loose strings up by the end of the book. Also, there was gratuitous use of hard drugs in the story that had practically no reason for being there. If a "Boogie Nights" level of drug usage offends you, then steer clear of this book. It only subtracts from the story. I wasn't especially impressed with the author's sentence structure or grammar, and in many places, I had to re-read a paragraph to get the meaning. Even then, the author's intentions sometimes still eluded me. I don't mean to sound harsh, perhaps I'm just a bit critical. There is the possibility that some or most people would not be bothered by the shortcomings I have described, and perhaps not even notice them. If this truly is a new author, I would be proud to call it my first published work. I look forward to continued improvement and hotter stories, if that's even possible.

Wowzerz!,

This review is from: Every Frat Boy Wants It (Paperback)
Hmm, interesting portrayal of a gay man in a fraternity. I myself was in that sort of situation and I can assure you, nothing like that would ever happen in real life. But then again, this is all for the mind to enjoy! I thought there was some definite good writing in there, but sometimes I had to stop and just laugh at certain moments that were just too outrageous to accept as part of this story's universe. I'm still perplexed as to how Blair made it this long without being discovered for his blatant homosexuality. He is so over the top, so effeminate, it makes me go cross-eyed! Don't get me wrong, I love everyone under the rainbow flag, but come on! A dog could've sniffed out that queer! Other than that, I enjoyed in very much and am looking forward to more of Gregory's work.

Interesting book with a happy-ever-after ending. Can't really put it in any recommended reading list but can say it at least was not unreadable and was able to finish it. Happy I bought it used and did not spend too much money. This belongs in my pile of donations and giveaways.

Living in Kansas handsome blond and blue-eyed Jeff was expecting to attend a local college, but his father's promotion means a move to California, and so Jeff has to leave his friends and make new start. Finding himself alone in his new college he is only too pleased when fellow student Blair introduces himself, and soon the two boys from a close friendship. This in turn leads to Jeff, soon aka the innocent Kansas Prairie Boy, being introduced too Blair's fraternity and going through the initiation rituals. At the same time his friendship with Blair turns to love and a relationship, but not without its ups and downs during which Jeff has fun with other members of the fraternity including the well-built twosome Chris and Eric, who claim to be bi but Jeff has his doubts, and with whom he enjoys wrestling and a lot more.
Blair is the son of Hollywood film stars, now separated, and he not only introduces Jeff to his luxurious life style, but also to drink and drugs and to a film maker, but not the Hollywood sort, although the few hours filming turn out to be quite lucrative for Jeff. Likeable and good hearted Jeff narrates the events of his first year at college and holds nothing back. But if you are looking for reality look elsewhere. Almost all the participants are handsome well built boys, and whether straight or gay are not averse to getting physical and enjoying release at each others hands, lips or otherwise. More of a fantasy, with a rather tame yet gross initiation process thrown in, it makes for a pleasant diversion if nothing else - despite occasional irritating grammatical lapses.

What a great book! Where had you been hiding all this time? Let me say that I read a lot of mm romance and this one stands out by a good measure.
The main protagonist throught the book is Jeff Morgan, an in-the-closet gay guy with the hots for his friend. The story starts when his family and himself move to a new city just before his first year of college. New and friendless that all changes when he meets Blair Branchard, who immediatly friends him and introduces him to frat life. This is a good size book that kept even me going for a while, its refreshing to find a decent length mm romance that keeps you enthralled and wanting to know what happens next. Im surprised that such a good book has so few reviews, otherwise I might have found it sooner! A guaranteed good read that will keep you entertained till the last page.

This book is a great gay story. You can take it as light as you want or deeply think about every single situation described in the book. The characters are real, and things that happen to them could be faced by anybody. A truly real story. But a lot of fun too.

This was a fun and interesting read. For many who have been associated with frats, this is pretty much like it is in some frat houses.
