Book Description

Silhouette Yours Truly September 1, 1995

The minute widower cowboy Clint Danner posts a personal ad in Lilah McCord's billiard hall, Lilah knows her lifelong friend is in for a serious shock. Things in the dating world are a wee bit different than they were, say, twenty-odd years ago. And now that both Clint and Lilah are single, it's time for them to get a little reeducation.

But an old-fashioned cowboy like Clint is unprepared for the female urban sophisticate. In order to protect him, Lilah dives into her magazines, learning about waxing, tanning, the importance of lingerie, exfoliating-- and mysterious things like ylang-ylang and G-spots. Suddenly Lilah realizes that she's missed out on some good things over the last few years-- things she'd like to try out.

Now all she needs is an available male partner of her own...

Review

When rancher Clint Danner sidles up to the message board at Lilah's Billiards and posts his want ad for a single female pool partner, Lilah McCord knows her friend truly has gone over the bend, poor man. He doesn't need a partner, he needs a hormone transplant. After all, Lilah's known Clint for forty years; since she was a toddler. They helped each other bury their spouses and watched each other become grandparents. Lilah knows there's no woman in Green Tomato, Oklahoma good enough for Clint. So she decides she needs to distract him, channel his energy until this mid-life crisis is over, until sanity returns and Clint realizes that dating and romance just aren't proper for people their age. The problem is, in devoting all this energy to distracting Clint, Lilah's learning a thing or two about being a forty-something woman in the 1990's instead of the 1890's. She's learning all kinds of things about sex and seduction, to say nothing about make-up and body sculpting. The next thing she knows, she's wearing Lycra and riding a mountain bike. And having very different feelings for her childhood friend. Now, if she can only turn Clint into a 90's man...Wow, does Cait London have a way with a story! You won't want to leave Clint and Lilah, or Green Tomato Oklahoma anytime soon! Warning: don't read EVERY GIRL'S GUIDE TO... if it embarrasses you to be caught laughing outloud! Once again, Cait London creates truly individual characters that are sassy, funny, and heart warming. Clint and Lilah (not to mention the crew at the pool hall) are so real, you swear you could run into them on your next cross-country road trip!Annette Carney -- Copyright © 1994-97 Literary Times, Inc. More About the Author

Cait London is my latest pseudonym; previous was Cait Logan, and I'm thrilled when people remember my other writing persona. After 20+ years in publishing best sellers, I've received awards and have written in almost all of the romance subgenres (series, historical, paranormal, etc.), and a hefty amount of those were in Desires, including the Tallchiefs. More info at my website and blog, an enewsletter is available at caitlondon-subscribe@yahoogroups.com. I'm probably best known for small town secrets, characterization and twists and am a member of several writing groups. I am currently researching new projects/novels.

4.0 out of 5 stars Every Girl's'Guide to ... by Cait London, March 30, 2010

This review is from: Every Girls Guide To... (Yours Truly #5) (Silhouette Yours Truly) (Paperback)
At only 185 pages, this is a quick, easy to read romance - perfect for a lunch, or a sunny day by the pool. I love the books that were published under this banner - stories about mature women and men finding love when they least expect it! And it doesn't hurt that this story features a long, lean, gorgeous cowboy ... Yum!
