I normally read romantic thrillers/suspense; this story is not a typical romance, nor a thriller/suspense, still it had enough suspense for me to continue turning the pages. It's a "coming of age" story, more Kristin Hannah-like than my usual suspense authors. I kept reading to find out how Amanda escaped the older man's emotional claws and how she dealt with the family conflict and scandal their relationship caused. The characters were well-developed and believable. I was quite satisfied, and look forward to more from this author.

A very good read! Recommend highly. This is a great book about a young girl who gets involved in damaging relationship and the lasting impact is has on her and her family. Great character development and a thorough storyline. The author pulls you in early and you are engaged in the story. This is a novel where I found myself wanting to talk to the characters or in some case yell at them or cheer them on! very nice storytelling!

This is a compelling story that sucks you in rather quickly. I found the level of suspense intriguing. The author does a great job with character development and builds the story nicely. It's edgy, erotic at times as well as disturbing at times. I can see this as a young adult, coming of age edition. What intelligent young lady doesn't share some version of the older man fantasy at some point in their youth? How easily an innocent fantasy can turn into a nightmare is a strong message for young adults. This is a good read from a newly published author. I look forward to her next effort.

Immediately you are drawn into the fascinating world of a naive young dancer, but it is the evolution of her conflicted relationships that keep you turning each page in suspense, in compassion, and in enjoyment. A scandalous lover, a shattered family and precarious friendships are all entwined as Amanda takes misguided steps to follow her dreams. If you have ever wondered how someone could allow themselves to become involved and held captive in an unhealthy relationship, then you will begin to understand as she descends the slippery slope of dangerous love and all it's consequences.
