James Herriot was an English veterinary surgeon and writer, who wrote semi-autobiographical stories of his time with animals. His stories are known for their warmth, humor, drama, color, and humanity. And "Every Living Thing", his last book is no exception. In fact, when "Every Living Thing" in 1992 it immediately went into the top 10 bestseller list in Britain, and had an 865,000 copy First Edition printing in the United States. Herriot died of prostate cancer in 1995, after a long illness. His 1972 book "All Creatures Great and Small" was made into 1975 movie and a long-running BBC series. A great storyteller with a warm heart.
