4.0 out of 5 stars Enjoy spiritual journey from your armchair, July 26, 2005
This review is from: Every Pilgrim's Guide to Celtic Britain and Ireland (Paperback)
The publishers "Liguori Publications" is a community of religious priests, brothers , lay people and contemplative nuns. Their ministry is to spread the gospel and produce educational books etc. They publish a series of books on shrines of the holy land, eastern & western Europe and the USA, and a book on Eurpoe's Monastery and Convent Guesthouses.Andrew Jones is Rector of Llanbedrog and Rural Dean of Lleyn in North Wales, and an associate member of the Iona Community. He regularly leads groups of pilgrims on celtic site tours.

Now to the book. "Whether planning a pilgrimage to England, Ireland, Scotland and Wales or enjoying a spiritual journey without leaving home, readers of this book will find a wealth of information on the shrines, churches, saints and holy places of the celtic tradition". Some of the places featured are: Iona & Whithorn in Scotland; Lindisfarne, Whitby, Jarrow, Ripon, Old Sarum, Glastonbury, Tintagel & Canterbury in England; Lleyn Peninsula, StWinifreds Well & StDavids in Wales; and Glendalough ( my personal favorite), Kells, Kildare, Skellig Michael, Slane Hill and Tara in Ireland. The book is illustrated with drawings, color photographs and maps.Enjoy.
