4.0 out of 5 stars CAN'T WAIT FOR THE NEXT ONE...BUT CONFUSED
Okay....the book was good, any real reader could over look the mistakes that was in the book and you knew who was talking from other things going on in the book. The story line was in-taced correctly and I enjoyed this one better than the first. But the same questions as the other readers: Where did Snake come from when he was poisoned in the first book and beat down? Who...

3.0 out of 5 stars Not As Good As The First Book
This was a good story but at the end I feel the author makes two fatal errors destroying the whole story. Without giving away the plot I will say one of the errors has to do with Trae and Tasha. The other error I can't release or it will ruin the read if you have not read it. I still recommend this if you have read the first one. But I was bothered by the ending...

The story line was in-taced correctly and I enjoyed this one better than the first. But the same questions as the other readers: Where did Snake come from when he was poisoned in the first book and beat down? Who and Why did "someone" shot Trea? I mean come on....you left your readers hanging at the end, you have to come correct on this thing....let us know if you plan on having a sequel or series so we as the readers will know what to expect.

Keep the books...comin'

4.0 out of 5 stars Where Would I Be Wit' Out You?, May 12, 2006
Wahida follows up her smash "Thugs And The Women Who Love Them" with this hot sequel. Whereas the first book focused more on Kyra and Jaz, this second one features Roz (aka Tasha) and Angel.

What's Good About This Book - You get to catch up with the ladies and follow the drama they deal with from their men all in the name of love. Roz falls in love with Trae but she wants him to get out of the game before it's too late. Angel is a lawyer who falls for Trae's best friend Kaylin, also a hustler. Angel has more at stake for the simple fact that she is a lawyer and could lose her license dealing with this man. The author does a good job of showing how the drama goes both ways. Yeah, there's drama that automatically comes with dealing with a hustler but the women aren't perfect either, so you'll find yourself switching sides. Overall, this is a good sequel and from the explosive ending deserves at least one more to wrap it up.

What's Bad About This Book - For one, Roz, who is now called Tasha. I don't understand the point of the name change, maybe some inside thing Ms. Clark and somebody else only understands. Second, typos, typos, and some more typos. At one point Tasha was spelled "Trash". I support African-American authors but will continue to hold their printed word to the same standard as any other author. I understand slang but when there's just outright typos and grammatical errors, I'm going to call you on it. Stop blaming the publishing company and take responsibility for your work. I do give Ms. Clark credit for letting you know in the Raw & Uncut version that the publishing was a rush job. Nevertheless it's her name behind the finished product so she takes the hit.

Despite the few negatives, the book is worth reading and will not disappoint. I will definitely buy future novels from this author.

After reading Thugs and the Women Who Love Them, I was up in arms concerning how it ended. I was full of questions - what, why, who and when? That's where sequels, follow-ups and part 2 come into play. And what a sequel it was! After getting into Wahida Clark's writing style I continued on the thug journey.

I enjoyed visiting the old playas (Kyra & Marvin) (Jaz and Faheem). But truly fell in love with Tash (Roz) and Trea's story. The relationship of these two characters was OFF THE CHAIN. Even though Trae was a stone-cold brother, he loved and took care of Tash. I was happy to see all the ladies, through adversity, obtain their dreams. Wahida spins a story about life and the choices made, that's sweet but sugar coated. She shows you the Game and the consequence of playing it.

I enjoyed this book so much I read it twice, and that's something I "rarely" do. This book was so HOT that I have several people wanting to read it. But as a book connoisseur, I told them to purchase their own copy.

Wahida, you left us hanging at the end with what happen to Trae, but it's all good. You CAN'T take Trae from us now! Kaylin is going to need Trae to deal with Snake (readers you know what I'm talking about). BRING ON book number 3 "Don't Knock the Hustle!" WE'RE ANXIOUSLY WAITING!!!

4.0 out of 5 stars It was STRAight, July 13, 2004

It was a real good book, the only thing that I had a problem with was the ending. You are kinda left hanging and dont know whats going on, they said that tre was bleeding but that was it......then snake came to the wedding and they were armed and ready. I am abit vconfused and lost with the ending. They should have went back to trae and tasha to say atleast something. I didint give it a 5 becuz I dont like the fact how I was confused a bit and left hanging. Pretty much everyone who reads the book says the same thign about the ending. Is there a sequel or what? I dont even know that!!

This is the follow-up to Thugs and the Women who Love Them. The story follows Roz, Angel, Kyra and Jasmine and the never ending drama with their men. All though Kyra and Jasmine are in this book, it deals mostly with Roz and Angel.

Roz has just broken up with her man of 5 years who is currently in jail on drug charges. Her ex's best friend, Trae is falling for her and she's desperatly trying to fight him off because she doesn't want to live that lifestyle anymore.

Angel is falling for Trae's right hand man, Kaylin who is a drug dealer as well. This love affair can become very dangerous being that Angel is studying to become a lawyer.

This book was good from beginnig to end. Filled with sex, lies and lots of drama till the very end. The ending calls for yet another sequel. I would have given it 5 stars but because of the numerous errors in the book, I gave it 4 stars. I can't wait for the next book entitled, Don't Knock the Hustle.

5.0 out of 5 stars Wahida, keep em comin..., July 12, 2007
This review is from: Every Thug Needs a Lady (Paperback)
Just like "Thugs and the Who Love Them," I couldn't put down "Every Thug Needs A Lady!" Wahida has done it again! I feel like the characters are my peeps.

The unbelieveable drama and toe-tingling sex continue when Roz "Tash" and Angel find the men of their dreams...best friends Trae and Kaylin "Kay." As professional, college educated women, Tash and Angel can't understand why they've fallen head over heals for two "thugs." Trae and Kay make Tash and Angel the envy of all of the ladies in their social circle. These two couples are on a roller coaster ride to trouble living the lifestyles associated with hustlin for a livin, but their dedication to each other holds them together until the end.

I'm on my way to buy the third sequel, "Thug Matrimony."

This review is from: Every Thug Needs a Lady (Paperback)
I had to read this book, because I loved the book, (Part 1) Thugs and the Women who Love Them. Now, I am anticipating the arrival of the sequel

(Part 2)Every Thug Needs a Lady, (Part 3)Thug Matrimony. Some parts in this book were predicatable, but overall it was a good read and fast paced, and easy to follow. I stayed up all night long reading this book, I was determined to finish this book!! I really liked that in this book you were introduced to Roz, or Tasha (same person) because in (Part 1)Thugs and the Women who Love Them , she played a small part in the book. This book (Part 2)also recapped with all the other characters from Thugs and the Women who Love Them, Kyra and Marvin, Faheem and Jaz, and Angel. I loved the ending of this book where Snake makes his appearance, I knew he wasn't dead, since his body was never found! However I really grew to like Angel and Kaylin, and Tasha, or Roz (same person) with Trae. Trae and Kaylin are friends who hustle together, and are trying to get out of the game, before they end up in prison or a closed casket. The Women in this book represent for there men. Every Thug Needs a Lady, has a wonderful ending, leaving you in suspense to where there has to be a sequel. All the Ladies in this book get what they want, they get money, and get educated while standing by there men, overall it was a good read and has a happy ending. I cant wait to read the sequel. If you like this kind of urban, hot, GHETTOFABULOUS street fiction then you will love Wahida Clark's Books, but read them in order!!!!

4.0 out of 5 stars It's all about you!, December 29, 2006
This review is from: Every Thug Needs a Lady (Paperback)
This book is basically a rendition of every hood rat's fairytale. Being that I am not a hood rat, I found this book to be predictable, yet interesting. The over-used phrase of the day is "it's all about you". That should've been the title of the book. The fashions are so out of date, this book was originally written in 2000 so don't think that Wahida is just soulful. But, all in all, it is a great read if you like that type of ghetto fiction. I read it in one day, but then again, I am a fast reader. If you like authors like Nikki Turner, you'll love this book. Just a warning: this book will have a sequel (I wish someone would've told me that) that comes out April 2007.

This book was AWESOME !!! I absolutely fell in love with Trae. His character was put together so well! she really gave you a mental picture for him and all of the other participating charcters for that matter. She really out did herself with this one!! It was waaaayyyy better than "Thugs and the women that love them" All I have to say is I cant wait till part three.
