This is an extremely rare CD. It was rare even in 1991, when I bought it. No idea why though because it is an excellent collection of spirituals and foot-stompin' gospel. Nat does an excellent job with each song, some performed in a reverent prayerful tone and others in a swinging, jazzy, light-hearted sound. Occasionally the choir backing him gets a little loud and overpowering, but Nat's warm, sweet voice continues to shine through. Not to be missed is the final track "Steal Away", definitely a heartfelt prayer. You will find yourself remembering and singing these songs for days afterward.

I have the original 27 minute version, this version has been remastered with extra tracks. Awesome update. Spiritually uplifting music from the King of ballads

I am so happy to find this music as I used to listen to it under different album title years ago Nat King Cole sings Negro Spirituals.
