5.0 out of 5 stars WOW! If Pam could only do this every time!
I waited a very long time for this CD release, and I am in heaven with what I found. The songs on this CD are no less than profound. Tillis couldn't get any countrier than "Whiskey On The Wound"- destined to become a classic. "I Said A Prayer For You" has a beat that makes you put the petal to the metal. Check out the tender ballads "Every Time" and "Hurt Myself."...

3.0 out of 5 stars Not This Time
Her voice is as great as ever on this one, but the material isn't nearly as strong as her first two releases. Most of it falls somewhere between country & soft rock, & she completely abandons the bluegrass elements that spiced up her previous albums. By far the two best tracks are the uplifting, up-tempo "We Must Be Thinking Alike", & "A...

Tillis is no longer contracted with Arista, so order this CD before it goes out of print.

5.0 out of 5 stars Every Time = Pam at her BEST, May 21, 2005
This review is from: Every Time (Audio CD)
This is quite possibly my favorite album that Pam Tillis has ever released. Actually, every album Pam has put out has been amazing. Anyone who says "All of This Love" was the beginning of the end is completely out of their mind. "All of This Love" and "Every Time" may not have produced many hits, but in my opinion, they are probably Pam's best. Every song on this album is a hit of its own. The uptempo songs on this album ("I Said A Prayer," "You Put the Lonely on Me," "Lay the Heartache Down," "Not Me") go above and beyond your average fast song. They totally rock. The title track should have been a huge hit on its own. It's a wonderfully produced ballad. The rest of the ballads are also brilliant. Pam is at her best here. She took a three year break between this album and the last, and the wait was truly worth it. The album ends with Pam's version of a song that Martina McBride had recorded three years earlier--"A Great Disguise." Pam put her own twist on the song, and it worked out very well as a conclusion to this album, which I am proud to call a masterpiece.

4.0 out of 5 stars Underrated album from Tillis, May 14, 2004
This review is from: Every Time (Audio CD)
This album wasn't much of a commercial success, but there's some great songs throughout. The lead single "I Said A Prayer" is an infectuous uptempo that was the only hit from the album. The title track is a classic Tillis ballad that should have been a bigger hit. There's some nice uptempo songs like "You Put The Lonely On Me", "Not Me", "Lay The Heartache Down", and heartfelt ballads such as "A Great Disguise", "After Hours", "Hurt Myself" and "A Whisper and A Scream". Overall a fairly good album.

5.0 out of 5 stars Every Time, April 3, 2002
This review is from: Every Time (Audio CD)
This was Pam's first studio album since 1995's ALL OF THIS LOVE. Between those three years much had changed in country music. However Tillis returned with a collection of inspired songs that were a good match to her voice and showed the strength in her quality of choosing good songs for her albums. The first single "I Said A Prayer" is one of those irresistibly drawn songs where you have to sing along once you hear it a few times. The title track is one of the best ballads on this cd, both tender and passionate, heartbreaking too. Pam chose some great uptempo songs for the album such as "You Put The Lonely On Me", "Lay The Heartache Down", "Not Me", etc. As well some passionate ballads such as "A Whisper and a Scream", "Whiskey on the Wound", "Hurt Myself", "A Great Disguise" and more. Overall EVERY TIME is a cd that doesn't happen every time, its a overall strong effort and as usual ignored by country radio, what a shame.

3.0 out of 5 stars The Creative Downslide Continues, July 14, 2002
By
Chris S. "cscotts" (atlanta, ga United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Every Time (Audio CD)
Like the previous ALL OF THIS LOVE, EVERY TIME finds Pam Tillis again relying on middling material that fails to live up to her obvious talent. While the songs throughout range from great ('I Said A Prayer','A Great Disguise') to awful(the sappy title track, 'A Whisper And A Scream'), some of the blame can probably be put on her choice of producer( Billy Joe Walker, who also managed to dull Mindy McCready's edge on her DOA third effort). At some point, Tillis needs to wise up and ditch her producer, the person who helps her pick her songs(she's highly capable of writing first-rate material all by herself), and anyone else willing to let her settle for second and third-rate cast-offs like this.

4.0 out of 5 stars A great showcase of Ms. Tillis's talent to pick great songs, July 5, 1998
By A Customer
This review is from: Every Time (Audio CD)
Once again Pam Tillis comes through with a great selection of songs on this enjoyable album. She mixes things up with a cutting edge song like "I said a prayer" and a true heartbreaking country tune like "Whiskey on the Wound". A treasure on the album is "Everytime", sure to be a hit.

5.0 out of 5 stars This is Pam Tillis at her very best!, March 10, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Every Time (Audio CD)
This is one of the best CDs ever recorded. Pam has always had a talent for choosing the best songs for her records. This one is no exception. It is everything you would expect from a Pam Tillis CD. Pam puts so much time, energy, and emotion into everything she does. This CD is full of emotion. You can hear it best in the songs, "I Said A Prayer", "Every Time", "Hurt Myself", and "A Great Disguise". This CD is an absolute must for every Pam Tillis fan.
