2.0 out of 5 stars Ridiculous ..., May 29, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
Folks, don't buy this book unless you're willing to swallow a whole bunch of the sicker Christian ideology.

The premise is good, the execution is good - at least up until about halfway through the first chapter. Then the author starts laying it on thick. The author claims it is perfectly acceptable to be angry about someone using the Lord's name in vain, but it is not okay to be angry about life-endangering situations like someone cutting across three lanes of traffic right in front of you, so they don't miss an exit. It's okay to be angry about a child being killed by their idiot, abusive parent, but it is not okay to be angry when someone takes advantage of you.

In a nutshell, this book is nauseatingly holier-than-thou. All this is, is a Biblical take on anger. If you want to know what the Bible says about anger, read your Bible, don't rely on people regurgitating Biblical verse at you.

And if you want help with anger, this isn't the place to start.

5.0 out of 5 stars The book takes you on a journey from letting anger control you to you being able to control your anger, June 16, 2011
This review is from: Every Woman's Guide to Managing Your Anger (Paperback)
I am so happy I was able to read this book and take the time to follow the advice written. You don't have to be an angry person to learn from these well written and easy to understand chapters.

The book takes you on a journey from letting anger control you to you being able to control your anger. The process will have you looking at incidents in your life where you were angry, the best ways to diffuse your anger, and ways to forgive others as well as yourself.

There is a book by Dr. Phil McGraw called Self Matters, this book is a lot like that one only its principles are supported by scripture. You will not be able to sit and read this book in one sitting or even two or three. The exercises the author has you complete to better yourself can sometimes be time consuming. You may not feel the need to fully complete each question but you will learn so much from this book you will probably want to read it again!
