How refreshing... In this novel, readers are treated to one of Rique's diverse styles of writing. Different from his previous releases ("Love & Justice" and "Whispers From a Troubled Heart"), "Every Woman's Man" reveals this author's more sensual style. This novel is reaming with steamy, hot love scenes, and the main character, Devin Alexander, is essentially every woman's dream man. Three relationships, three very different women... Yet Devin possesses the qualities in a man that each woman desires. However, struggling with his own issue, Devin is unable to commit, which turns out to be his downfall. He really wants to be in a stable, long-term relationship, but a past experience will not allow him. Again, I could relate with the characters, which makes reading Rique's work very enjoyable and entertaining. His fans will even be surprised, as I was, by a guest in one of the storylines. As with Rique's previous books, I was left with wanting more, and I am looking forward to reading his next novel.

5.0 out of 5 stars Very Hot and Intense Read!!!!!, October 6, 2004

Devin Alexander is a man on a mission to become every woman's dream man because of a haunting secret from his past with a former love. He engages in 3 passionate affairs with women who struggle with his inability to commit to a monogamous relationship but continue to love him anyway because he treats them with all the love, respect and romance that all women are looking for in any man. When the past comes back to haunt him, he will finally face his demons and the results is astonishing. Great read because of the intense storyline. I couldn't put this book down until I finished it. Rique took us in a different direction with this book and it proves that he is a man of many talents when it comes to his writing. Great Book Rique!!!! Thanks for allowing me to have a sneak preview and the honor of writing the first review.

4.0 out of 5 stars The "C" Word, January 23, 2005

This review is from: Every Woman's Man (Paperback)
What makes a man or woman unable to commit in a relationship? Could the person they are dating not be the "one" for them? Did they have a traumatic experience in their past and are incapable of fully trusting another? Some people have no desire to commit, while others lead their significant other on, allowing them to think they do. EVERY WOMAN'S MAN by Rique Johnson deals with a man incapable of commitment.

Devin Alexander is every woman's dream man. He is considerate, sensitive, charming, romantic and attentive, not to mention fine as wine. Any woman would be happy to have Devin by her side. There is only one problem - due to a painful incident that happened in his past, Devin vowed never to commit or utter those three words women love to hear. What could possibly happen to make a man NEVER want to commit again?

Devin engages in three different relationships during different times of his life with three beautiful, smart and caring women. Each of them are determined to get the two things out of Devin that he refuses to give: his love and a commitment. But the demon that has a hold of Devin's heart refuses to let go. Will any of these ladies succeed in freeing Devin's heart and mind enabling him to trust enough to make a lifetime commitment?

EVERY WOMAN'S MAN is a sensual, steamy page turner that you will not want to put down. With so many men incapable of commitment, this novel gives us a little insight on what goes on in a man's heart and mind. We see that men hurt just like women and sometimes the hurt is a little deeper than the mind can even imagine. What I enjoyed most was reading about such a caring and romantic man who wanted to, but was unable to do the right thing. The story was well-written and you could easily relate to its strong characters. With just a touch of humor and wit and sex scenes that are sure to turn the heat up a notch, EVERY WOMAN'S MAN is a book that will get your fires burning and juices stirring.

2.0 out of 5 stars I tried to believe....but I couldn't, January 13, 2010

I liked the general idea for the book. I liked the direction the author was trying to take it. But I just couldn't believe any of the characters. The way they met, the way they related to each other, the conversations they had it was just too over the top fantasy. The way Devin's former lovers reacted to his "problem" and to meeting each other. I just couldn't get into the characters at all. It wasn't real. Maybe I could believe that one of the people in this book would actually act like they did in this book in real life but not a whole book of unrealistic characters. That i can't buy.

5.0 out of 5 stars I Get 'It', April 25, 2008
I personally thought this book was a very interesting read. The honesty of the main character gives hope to men and women alike.I appreciate the fact that he was a sensitive lover which is what women crave. The characters were all middle aged which was appealing to me I have always been more attracted to older men rather than men my age. Rique, you did an awesome job with this one. Don't let the critics bother you. If they were more aware of a woman's needs, they would have a different opinion. Look forward to reading more of your work!
Your Fan,
Lena

5.0 out of 5 stars An oven mitt, a pack of cigarettes and an answering machine, July 28, 2006

Every Woman's Man is HOT. STEAMY. JUICY. It's not just the sex, but the way the drama in the story unfolds that keeps you from putting the book down. I never realized that sex and drama could compliment each other so tastefully. Unlike, walking into a shoe store and trying to find your size, Devin Alexander was a tailor fit into each woman's life. Gabby, Maggie, and Sophie all gained from Devin in their own way, but without realizing it, also helped peel away and reveal to Devin what he really needed to see...his own demons.
I couldn't put down this book, and thoroughly enjoyed myself with Devin... I hope there is more to come.
This was my first walk on the wild side with Rique, and I didn't realize that there was more to life than well...there are a lot of missions here in San Anton!

3.0 out of 5 stars Far Cry From Reality, August 16, 2005
This review is from: Every Woman's Man (Paperback)
Devin Alexander being every woman's man was a far cry from reality. Although, I have to appreciate this character for always revealing his inabilities before getting involved with naive women who failed to realize that they could not change him. Him sparing no expense to wine, dine and deliver lavish gifts was a bit pointless if there was no future. Once revealing his emotional baggage to Sophia "2" things became very far fetched. What I did like about the book was it's explicit sexy scenes which was the glue that held my attention. Without them, it was just a bunch of gibberish. Once the book came full circle it became very predictable and unrealistic.
