I WILL BE WAITING "SAY AMEN" AGAIN,
By
This review is from: Everybody Say Amen (Paperback)
THIS WAS A GREAT STORY AND FILLED WITH MANY INSPIRATIONAL AND UPLIFTING MESSAGES ABOUT FORGIVENESS AND STRENGTH. I WOULD SUGGEST TO READ LET THE CHURCH SAY AMEN FIRST BECAUSE IT WILL INTRODUCE READERS TO THE CHARACTERS. THE END LEFT ME HANGING SO I HOPE RACHEL AND THE REST OF THE FAMILY WILL BE BACK FOR THE SEQUEL.

Amen, Amen, Amen,

This review is from: Everybody Say Amen (Paperback)
Everybody Say Amen by Reshonda Tate Billingsley is an inspirational drama filled with humor. Rachel Jackson Adams is now married to Lester Adams. He was not her first choice, in fact her heart still belongs to Bobby, her child's father. But the former wild-child has gotten married and settled down, almost. When Rachel discovers Lester is going to become a preacher she is not pleased. She does not feel she can be a preacher's wife the way her late mother was. She is too interested in being herself and getting dressed in her Baby Phat outfits. She rebels every step of the way, initially.
The book is filled with humorous, though poignant moments as Rachel struggles to accept her new role. She starts bringing innovative programs to the church, much to the chagrin of the elders. There are many confrontations and upheavals within her marriage during the first months of Lester's ministering. Everybody Say Amen is filled with a backdrop of family drama stories that will have the readers gasping and laughing out loud. There is infidelity, homosexual married folks, drug abuse and almost any situation that can come up in family drama. Everybody Say Amen is a wonderful read for those interested in a fast-paced, inspirational, yet funny look at what goes on behind the scenes in a church family. There is never a dull moment, just when the reader feels they know the direction of the story, something else will come up. This book is recommended for anyone interested in a well-paced, inspirational, fun read. Angelia Menchan APOOO BookClub

Everybody should read this book!!!,
This review is from: Everybody Say Amen (Paperback)
Rachel Jackson Adams is outraged -- after growing up a preacher's daughter, and knowing first hand the difficulty of life under the microscope.... she's faced with life in the spotlight again... But this time it's her husband who hears God's call to become a preacher. Rachel has toned down her wild ways, for the sake of her marriage and her two children, but still she is a reluctant first lady of Zion Hill. When her son, Jordan, begins acting up at school, Rachel turns to the boy's father, her first love, Bobby. Soon old sparks are rekindled and temptation is looming... With her brothers facing their own baby mama drama... and her father, Reverend Simon Jackson, recovering from illness, Rachel is truly put to the test.
Reshonda has done it yet again... I enjoyed this story, felt it was a great continuation of Let the Church say Amen and was completely satisfied. I look forward to reading more about Rachel and how she handles the new developments in her life... You don't want to sleep on this one. Great Job Reshonda!

This book was a wonderful continuation of the first book "Let the Church say Amen." I hope that the author will continue to write one more book. the characters in the book are growing up but their lives are not yet complete. Even though the daughter finally got her life and her priorities in order, the two brothers still have some issues to deal with, I think the story will not be complete until all lives have been touched in some way and their lives of completion are on paper. ReShonda Tate Billingsley is a wonderful writer and her books always keep your attention.

Will the Drama Ever End?,
By Nardsbaby "Connoisseur of the written word™" (Westside Chi-town, IL United States) - See all my reviews (VINE VOICE)
This review is from: Everybody Say Amen (Mass Market Paperback)
It's been seven years since we congregated with the Jackson family, and, boy, have things changed. Rachel Jackson-Adams, former deviant and preacher kid, is now the first lady of Zion Hill, the very church she grew up in. Though she'd been reluctant at first when Lester, her husband, told her about his calling, she is trying very hard to play her position. Unfortunately, Rachel still has a lot of growing to do. With so much stress from the church, Jordan, her son, and her brothers and their children and her father's possible romance, Rachel finds herself praying more and more. Will she trust God at His word or try to take matters into her own hands?
EVERYBODY SAY AMEN by ReShonda Tate Billingsley is comical, rousing and a quick read. It is good to see how the family has grown in the last seven years and learned to lean on one another, just as their mother would've wanted. As the drama steadily climbs, the Jacksons find themselves standing together in the face of adversity. I am so looking forward to reading SAY AMEN, AGAIN.

Rachel grew up a preacher's daughter and she rebelled in every way. Her husband Lester, have advised her that God has called him to preach. Rachel is not happy about becoming the first lady of a church. Rachel has two children, her son Jordan have started to behave badly. Jordan spends time with his dad Bobby and his wife. Rachel is still in love with Bobby, but married Lester. This book is packed with drama and scandal. A must read.........Waiting for the sequel
