5.0 out of 5 stars Hypnotic
"Everybody Loves The Sunshine" is the most hypnotic song I've ever heard. You can feel the sun rays beaming on you when you listen to this song. You see all these wonderful, hypnotizing colors. I'm telling you, that song has to be one of the best of the century. He reached epiphany when he made that song.

5.0 out of 5 stars Bask in this sunshine ....~...^i^.......*, August 28, 2002

This album is a long time favourite of mine. The title track "Everybody loves the sunshine" is a magic carpet ride to Paradise. you'll be getting down in this sunshine ...."just Bee's and things and flowers"....each track has something new to offer, phat and funky "tongue power","you and me my love". the track "Keep on walking" is a blissout.
You could start a religeon with these Album tracks! "Roy's temple of sonic third eye expansion! "
This album emanated by Ayers & friend's in 1976 is still potent magic , try it and take the journey.
This album will lift your consciousness and lighten your moods.! Side Affects: Not adddictive but known to become habit forming.

4.0 out of 5 stars excelent, April 9, 2011

Just because you are the most skilled in your field does not mean you have to flash this fact all the time.

Case in point, this album by Roy Ayers. Listen to his soundtrack to Coffy, or much of this master's material, and you'll here vibe playing so fast, so melodic, it is a geometric proof the humanly impossible is in fact possible.

Ayers goes in a different direction here: a group effort of juicy, silky funk. His playing here is amazing, but there is not as much as you may think. He is more occupied with creating lush textures--smooth synths, amazing female vocals-warm as satin sheets in an elegant heart-shaped bed.

Which is even more admirable, more deep in his amazing art. Hear how on "Lonesome Cowboy," he mixes a hick accent with his diametrically opposed urban funk velvet, and makes it work. What craft.

Listen hard to this album, and anything else by this tower of musical strength.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Sunshine, February 11, 2009

Man, I remember these songs, good stuff for the ear here. I first got hooked on Mr. Ayers stuff back in the day when he did a version of the theme from M.A.S.H. It was so cool and laid back. I started listening to more and more. Roy has some really good stuff on here, definitely worthy of repeat listening. Check this disc out!! Contrary to some statements about his music. I would put him as the Co-Godfather of Acid Jazz. Right next to Sun Ra.

Spring of 1976, my senior year of High School, is when I remember this album breaking out! The song? "The Golden Rod!" I wore the disc out that summer..."The Third Eye, Hey, Uh, What you say, Come On" are other stand-outs on what was a great album! Whenever I play it, I'm (almost) a teenager again...Boy, do I miss those days! Five stars!!
