Review

Everybody's Business provides a modern, practical approach to inspiring enterprise growth through true collaboration. Wilson applies her practical wisdom anchored by "chats" with experts to help you transform your enterprise in ways that are leaner, faster, better and smarter.
- Maria Proestou, President, DELTA Resources, Inc.

Everybody's Business is an outstanding primer on what really matters in complex organizations. It is a compelling tale; utilizing very specific examples on why culture and leadership matter so much to the success of a business.
- Rear Admiral Jim McManamon (USN, Retired), former Deputy Commander, Surface Warfare, Naval Sea Systems Command

Wilson's expertise in transformational leadership shines through in this pioneering work. The notable tips she offers and the questions for reflection in each chapter will assist you in discovering the first easy steps you can take toward sustainable high performance.
- Jim MacDonald, Vice President, Human Resources - Americas of Hilton Worldwide

Through micro vignettes, startlingly clear insights and a wealth of knowledge, Everybody's Business demonstrates how organizations large and small, public and private, can ignite their corporate "imaginative moxie."
- Major General Barry D. Bates, (USA, Retired), Vice President of Operations, National Defense Industrial Association

Everybody's Business is a must read for everyone in business. Its' core message that successful leaders seek input is elegant but simple. This well-written book changed my thinking of how to gather data critical to our strategic success.
- Gary Shapiro, President and CEO of the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA)

I recommend this book for all leaders who desire to build high-performing teams. Whether you are struggling with team dysfunction, working through some "forming" or "norming" issues, or humming along with a team of strong performers, this book provides insight and real life examples to help you reach that next level of performance and continue to build team effectiveness. In her latest book, Dr. Marta Wilson shares from her personal experiences and proves, from the experiences of trusted colleagues, that as one increases individual engagement one will unleash new potential in their workforce.

I especially enjoyed the variety of individual, real life stories Dr. Wilson provides as she shares valuable insight that every leader should know.

From the very beginning of the book, Dr. Marta Wilson highlights the importance of each individual leader, and the personal strengths and creativity they bring to the table. Knowledge and expertise is crucial for successful organizations, and this knowledge lies within the organization's greatest resource---the people. Those who are able to, not only be the holder of knowledge and expertise themselves, but also appreciate and leverage this within others in the organization, will be in a far better position to successfully lead.

Dr. Wilson then goes on to highlight the areas leaders need to challenge within themselves, or expand within their knowledge base, such as integrity, communication, going outside of their comfort zone, etc. She also continues to emphasize the leaders ability to recognize and cultivate skills and knowledge among others. Dr. Wilson concludes the book nicely, tying together the elements of successful leadership. Overall, another excellent book for leaders by Dr. Marta Wilson!

What I really found compelling about this book authored by Dr. Marta Wilson is highlighted in her opening story of Eva, an overachiever who understands the whole system of her employer. Eva goes above and beyond her `silo' to ensure the success of the system. Many leaders reading this book would say, "I wish I had a team of Eva's"!

The good news as Dr. Wilson points through numerous examples is that most leaders probably already have their own "Eva's" on their team. To ensure they flourish, Dr. Wilson not only provides numerous examples but also finishes each chapter with some frank questions that will help the leader determine how well their respective organization is going to cultivate and sustain such a team of performers!
