5.0 out of 5 stars A must in Sherlockian satire, June 21, 2006

This review is from: Everybody's Favorite Duck (Hardcover)
If you are a Sherlock Holmes fan with a sense of humor, you'll love this book. Very well written with lots of twists and turns, this is a book filled with treats for intellectuals, fans of the great detective, and readers in general. The plot is well thought out, cohesive and gripping. The characters are fully fleshed and very real with just the right touches where needed. The hero, Enoch Bone catchs that Sherlock flavor very well indeed while also highlighting some of the hazards of being right all the time and side kick, John Weston rocks. Plus the three villians - "The Professor", a Moriarty for our times, Spectrobert - such refined cruelty, and the Mandarin - Fu Manchu with a twist, are wonderfully flavorful and easy to respect even as you loathe them.
So read on, the President is in danger, a theme park's wacky mascot is the ultimate terror, little kids, french chefs, time machines, and scones await, and only a master detective can save us all from a fate worse than death!
