5.0 out of 5 stars Best Summer Reading
All 3 stories are outstandingly fun, well written, engrossing. Punchy intelligent dialogue, no embarassing scenes or foul language, good Christian insight, truly an enjoyable read. Can't wait for more novels form Cecil Murphey.

3.0 out of 5 stars Good, but not great
As a Christian, I struggle with fictional stories where everything turns out just great. Certainly murder isn't great, but I found that everything in these books goes well. The murders are easy for the two stars to solve, the people involved just confess, men and women are constantly and instantly falling in love, most of the supporting characters have become Christians...

3.0 out of 5 stars Good, but not great, April 7, 2009
This review is from: Everybody's Suspect in Georgia: Everybody Loved Roger Harden/Everybody Wanted Room 623/Everybody Called Her a Saint (Everybody's a Suspect Mystery Series Omnibus) (America Loves a Mystery: Georgia) (Paperback)
As a Christian, I struggle with fictional stories where everything turns out just great. Certainly murder isn't great, but I found that everything in these books goes well. The murders are easy for the two stars to solve, the people involved just confess, men and women are constantly and instantly falling in love, most of the supporting characters have become Christians recently and all their lives are perfect, etc. What I found the most troubling is the final story, "Everyone Called Her a Saint" where 48 people take a cruise, and 40 of them are current or former patients of a psychiatrist who invited them along. I can tell you from experience, no psychiatrist I know would ever hang out socially with their patients, let alone treat them to a trip to Antarctica.

I realize the "Everyone loves a mystery" series is for Christians who want a little bit of mystery and not just a love story, and if that's what you are expecting, then this book will be fine. I'd rather curl up with Agatha Christie though, when it comes to mysteries . . . .

A good mystery without violence or gore. He keeps you guessing right up to the end. The characters are interesting and realistic. Wish he would write more!!
