Excellent math activities.,
By A Customer
This review is from: Everyday Discoveries: Amazingly Easy Science and Math Using Stuff You Already Have (Paperback)
This book is extremely strong in a few areas. First, the book has an excellent background for teaching science to very young children. Second, the experiments use easily-obtained materials in a hands-on inquiry approach to science. Third, the book is exceptionally good in encouraging math activities such as patterns, recording changes and graphing. However, the science part is not that impressive. Everyday Discoveries does encourage children's curiousity about Life Sciences and Changes in Matter. But the experiments lack scientific explanations, even simple descriptions of scientific phenomena. Use Everyday Discoveries to broaden your background in teaching science and for some great math activities for children up to age 10...The Science Spiders(TM) Newsletter.

I think this book is strong in all areas. Its hard not to when the author is your mother. (Not to mention living through as a child, what is now in all her books and i wouldn't have had it ANY other way)Good goin' mom! JD
