a long wait,
By tompan "tompanus" (CARLSBAD, CA United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Everyday Everynight (Audio CD)
I've been waiting years for this to be released on cd. This is a unique combination of Flora's brazilian rawness with Michel Colombier's sophisticated french pop arrangements. They co-worte many of the songs so it is a real collaboration. Standouts are Walking Away & Samba Michel where Flora lets out all the stops.

A Unique Sound For Flora,
By Ignacio R. Moran (New York, NY USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Everyday Everynight (Audio CD)
This recording, done back in the middle seventies, exemplifies that sound of Michel Colombier's arrangements and piano playing that mixes in perfectly for Flora's vibe attempt here. Her singing is silkier than ever which combines well with the orchestral lines and textures Colombier delivers. The best other aspect of this record (yeah, vinyl) is non other than Jaco Pastorius' bass 'sound'. It's early Jaco and he's simply killin' on the date. He also contributes a gorgeous piece in "Las Olas" (The Waves) a bossa that captivates my memories of Rio, Manila, Sao Paolo, Salvador, Bahia coming through the cityscapes of Paris. This is a recording date to check out and enjoy the romanticism with depth it brings to the forefront.
