this is a great book to read if organized religion leaves you cold or if you would like to learn to do meditation with Jewish content.

Mindy Ribner was my teacher, so I was able to learn some of these meditations directly from her.I can tell you that the meditations in this book are really tremendous experiences!

The book is less about kabbalah in the theoretical sense, and far more about the practical approach to Jewish meditative practices. The book is extremely well written, with great background, Biblical and Talmudic excerpts, and extremely practical "how to" approaches to beginning Jewish meditative practices. The author discusses her journey from Judiasm through Hinduism and back to Judiasm in a way that anyone seeking a path can relate to. Her practical, approachable writing style will encourage the reader to try the methods she writes about, and the methods themselves are powerful. A good read for the beginner.
