I will preface this by saying that I am just beginning my path back to God and that I have tried reading many Bibles but often felt like I was left feeling like "yeah, that's all well and good but what does this have to do with my life right now?".

Last fall, I lost my job. That was a devastating event for me (which, in retrospect, turned out to be a blessing). I had tremendous anger -- at my former employer, at my family that seemed unwilling to help, at my husband, at the world... While "consoling myself" by indulging in a trip to Barnes and Noble -- one of my favorite haunts -- something drew me to the aisle full of Bibles.

I picked up this Bible and flipped it open and what I read -- both from the Scripture and from Ms. Meyers -- really spoke to me. No matter the subject, Ms. Meyers has a way of discussing it that tells me that she has been there and struggled with the same things I struggle with. She is able to make even the most difficult passages seem relevant and is able to tie it into every day real world life.... thus the name.

By reading this Bible, I have been able to find peace, grow in faith, develop stronger relationships and start being the person I know that God wants me to be.

I think many people read the Bible but after they are done reading, they put it away and go on with life as usual. This Bible makes it difficult to just "put away" because on every page, you are guaranteed to read something that will tie into something that is currently happening in your life. THAT, to me, is truly what sets this Bible apart from all the rest.

I believe many good people are stumbling over the definition of what a "Study Bible" is supposed to be. This Bible is excellent for those who love Joyce Meyer and her teachings. Her comments and articles are scattered throughout the text and provide her usual practical applications of the Scriptures. The indexes in the back pages are a good place to start "studying with Joyce" and find wisdom and comfort for our daily lives (hence the title, "The Everyday Life Bible"). If you've been blessed by Joyce Meyer's teachings over the years, this Bible won't disappoint.

I was interested in trying the Amplified Bible when I spied this one in the AB section of a local bookstore. I wanted a leather edition of the AB and this fit the bill, with the addition of Joyce Meyer's comments. I was not seeking a Joyce Meyer product. The Everyday Life Bible has decent book introductions and some brief notes and commentary in each book. They tend to be more devotional or application in nature. Joyce wisely avoids doctrinal issues, especially in the book of Revelation. She concentrates on everyday studies about life issues, applying the Word of God in your life, and some topical studies in the back. There is no concordance and very minimal reference verses. I actually find the minimalist approach to be refreshing. I have nearly every study bible in print and have learned much from them; I cannot fault them. It is nice, however, to find a devotional type bible that simply focuses on my walk with Christ and does not get bogged down in study notes. I also am appreciating the AB translation; it really does help me understand passages more in depth.

I bought the leather binding version; it is constructed similar to other bonded leather bibles in its price range. The pages are somewhat thin and I wonder how the binding will hold up under heavy use. There is a decent margin on the sides and the print is easy on the eyes. All in all, I give it a three for the study portion but a five for the AB translation. I believe I killed two birds with one stone--I got the translation I wanted in a leather binding with the addition of some study notes.

I am not new to christianity, but I am new to reading the bible and knowing of the events that took place. I found this extremely useful as a bible and I absolutely love how Joyce Meyer relates the information to daily living. For me, it makes it easier to understand when I can relate it to my daily life. I would not consider this a study bible, I actually consider it my bible. I read from this bible and carry it to church. Joyce Meyer includes "Life Points" within the pages, along with prayers and other information from her. I would definitely recommend this to anyone who wants a clear understanding of the bible.

I was attracted to this book at Barnes and Nobles, because the author suggests things to pray for (at the bottom of many of the pages). I have trouble asking for what I need from God sometimes, and reading this bible really helps me to focus on what I need to ask for. This is great for women and college students because the author's notes explain the bible verses in a clear and easy-to-understand manner.

I recently purchased The Everyday Life Bible and absolutely love it! I have always been a fan of Joyce Meyer because she "tells it like it is". When I try to read the King James version of the Bible I just can't understand alot of it and I get discouraged. Now, I am excited about sitting down and reading The Everyday Life Bible because I can understand it and I'm learning so much and I'm on my way to a closer walk with the Lord. Thanks Joyce for your mission work! You are an inspiration!

Joyce shares her belief in being a doer of the Word. This Bible teaches how to do just that. It is an action type study. The back of the Bible has several sections of reference materials and verses. It is a wonderful gift for anyone who yearns to know how to have a great relationship with our Lord. It is food for the soul. Your heart and soul will rejoice.

The first two reviwers are upset that this isn't a "study" Bible. NOWHERE on the book does it claim to be so. In fact, on the front cover, it says, "Featuring Notes and Commentary by Joyce Meyer."

I am so far quite happy with what I see here. Since this is Joyce's work, I have no doubt it will be a terrific Bible.

PREACH IT, SISTER JOYCE!

Although I own several different Bible translations and read one or the other daily, none of them ever seemed to really "fit" me. This one does! I love the Amplified version and Joyce's commentary is spot on (as always). I agree with another reviewer that NOWHERE in this Bible or on it's packaging does it say that it is a study Bible and IT IS NOT! It IS a great, easy-easy to read translation with comments and "life points" by Joyce scattered throughout. I would HIGHLY recommend "The Everyday Life bible" as a first Bible for a new believer or even as an AWESOME gift for a high school/college graduate! Well done Joyce! Well done!

I came across the Amplified Bible due to Joyce Meyer's work. Even though I own 4 copies of it, I was excited about this one when I heard about it. I am not disappointed -- I love it! Once again, Joyce and her staff have revealed their committment to excellence and integrity with the release of this Bible. Recently I've had a book published that I've spent 10 years on from start-to-published on spirituality called "Oh My God. It's ME!" I know that it was Joyce's work that helped me get through much of the testing and preparation required to present that kind of material on a more public level. Joyce Meyer is truly a great spiritual leader and teacher. I feel almost as if she has been a mentor for me through her tapes and books. I am so thankful for her and her work. Sheryl Valentine
