4.0 out of 5 stars Another Hottt One From CMR!, April 30, 2007
This review is from: Everyday Process (Audio CD)
What we have here is a nice hip hop set from the latest addition to the CMR unit...Everyday Process. What really makes this one a keeper is that:(1)Jesus is represented in each joint...you're never lost in the wind as to whom they're referrin' to as the Way, Truth, and Life when they spit and (2)They're not mimickin' their CMR labelmates/peers the way Wu-Tang proteges were back in the day. I have to admit though, at first listen, I was agreein' with some of the other posts that were givin' em 3 stars. While the Intro was becomin' of a new addition to the CMR camp, to me, the lyrics/delivery could've used a little more polishin' and the album didn't really pick up for me until tracks 5-19.Everything from that point on is crisp, clean, Christ-centered, and apt to blowin' the speakers out if you're not careful. My personal fav's are #5-7,9-10,and 13-17. I was feelin' the cypha...but I prefer the cyphas from the older CM releases to this one. Everything CMR has stood for is in the formula behind EP's debut. Look forward to hearin' alot more from these brothers in the future.

4.0 out of 5 stars The Baton Has Been Passed: HHH's new Generation, March 6, 2008
By
This review is from: Everyday Process (Audio CD)
The Group known as Cross Movement are no more, and whilst they still plan to record as solo acts (please see Crime & Consequences and the eagerly awaited the Dash CD by CM's Tonic) the baton has been passed to a new generation, with Everyday Process being one of the first out the block. This release is more grimmy, then any other CM releases that, to my mind have been released, and I don't say that as a negative thing, as I do like that sound myself. Whilst not every track on here is a banger, when the production, lyrics, are on point, boy do they bring it. The outstanding track, and the reason I purchased this joint, is 'Grace' which could be the anthem of my life. Simply put, it exposes what we could have been without the grace of God, through the life death, and resurrect of his son Jesus Christ. The After party is a rough party joint that, whilst having a beat that makes a brother wanna move, has Godly lyrics relating to the ultimate 'After Party', the life promised to God's elect, in heaven. 'As real as it gets', a joint you can pump in your ride, which is an honest assessment of the hardness of the Christian walk, and an encouragement to keep-on, keeping on. 'Hey Girl' is a warning to all the sisters out there, with reference to the men, and ways of the world that, if used to define your self worth, will ultimately lead to unhappiness, and separation from God. This has a lovely lullaby feel to it.
What with this being a CM joint, you know it had to finish with a cypha, and not this any cypha. Na, they bring it, full on, with special guests: Lecrae, Flame, R-swift, and the awesome Phanatik, and Ambassador, who to these ears, really kill it. All in all this CD is evidence, if evidence was needed, that HHH's new generation won't drop the baton handed to them, and will represent the most high to the fullest.

5.0 out of 5 stars Cop this album, April 13, 2007
By
This review is from: Everyday Process (Audio CD)
I love this album and have not been able to take it out of the cd player yet. I think the beats are on point. The sound is gritty underground east coast sound. My favorite tracks are Resist the System, Grace, and Shine Bright. If you love true hip hop you will love this album and as with every CMR album the Lord is upfront and center no compromise on the message or the quality of sound. God Bless Everyday Process and the rest of the CM family to keep doing their thing.
