Absolutely excellent,
By A Customer
This review is from: Everyday Wisdom (Audio Cassette)
I purchased this cassette 2 years ago and am now replacing it; I listen to it A LOT! I find it easy to quote the statements/affirmations in many different situations in life (I have almost memorized them). The tape really does offer words of wisdom. I, unlike another reviewer, like the short statements, as varied as they are, rather than a continuous dialogue. Mr. Dyer states that the tape is designed this way, to pick out one idea at a time. I can listen to it over and over again, and still catch something I missed, or understood differently before. If you want to hear a postive message, if you want to retrain your thinking to a loving/positive mode, I can't say enough good about the message on this tape.

A Single Quote Can Transform Your Life,
This review is from: Everyday Wisdom (Paperback)
"Each time you send love in response to hate, you diffuse the hate." ~Wayne Dyer
It seems amazing to think about how words can destroy or enliven our lives. One sentence can inspire a new direction and a phrase can transform your existence. When we are struggling with decisions it is often the wise words of a friend that saves us from making the wrong choice. Dr. Wayne W. Dyer's thoughts have always been an inspiration to me and I see them as meaningful messages for a hurting planet. There is so much pain in life, but there is also the possibility of living in pure joy. I still love thinking about this quote: "You are not a human being having a spiritual experience. You are a spiritual being having a human experience." What an empowering thought. This book is filled with inspiring ideas that refocus your attention on how things actually are instead of how you thought they originally should be. On the surface we may feel that we are drowning in life's challenges, but when you think of yourself as an eternal soul, problems melt away and you view your life from an eternal perspective. This doesn't mean that you don't deal with anguish and sorrow, but you deal with it from a new perspective. Life becomes a blink of the eye in the light of an eternal existence. I love how Dr. Dyer explains forgiveness as an act of self-love because when you forgive you simply don't have to carry the problem around with you. Dr. Dyer is really stating what our souls already know to be true. He just says everything so brilliantly. Lately, I've been contemplating his advice about loving those who are difficult to love. I am thinking about his statement about loving and his statement about "the more you give away, the more you get back." A few of the quotes in this book made me laugh out loud. Dr. Dyer is not always serious and can actually be rather playful in his use of words. Words can be used as powerful weapons to destroy or they can bring great beauty to our lives. I see beauty in Dr. Wayne Dyer's revelation of inner wisdom. I seem to think about his words at least once a day, especially when I start to think negatively. I am just a soul trying to live in this body that ties me to the earth. One day I won't live here anymore and it is empowering to think of myself as an eternal being temporarily in this school of life. "You create your thoughts, your thoughts create your intentions, and your intentions create your reality." ~Dr. Wayne W. Dyer I'm working on this one! However lately I've noticed that my "invisible and silent" thoughts are being heard loud and clear. Although I still think our lives benefit from the power of the positive choice. Some thoughts magically transform your life without the addition of action, and some thoughts grow inside you and propel you forward into action. If you think about it, spiritual teachers have been giving us the secret keys to inner wisdom throughout time. I think of quotes as keys. I can use them to open up new and unexplored territory in the areas of thought and spirituality. Dr. Dyer has a lot of keys to free you from the prison of negativity. ~The Rebecca Review

This review is from: Cal 97 Everyday Wisdom Flip Calendar (Calendar)
This is a fantastic calendar. It is not year specific. You flip a page each day. Some days are good, and others are excellent. Some can change your whole attitude when life seems to be going the wrong way. One friend keeps wondering how the thoughts keep matching what she needs to hear at that time. There is definately energy in this calendar that goes beyond the paper it is printed on. I don't really care for daily calendars, and I have been using this one every day for at least 4 years now. Get it!

Full of inspiration and motivational quotes........,
By
This review is from: Everyday Wisdom (Paperback)
I love these small books full of great little inspiration quotes. I believe a slightly better book is The Power of Influence - Life Lessons On Relationships by John Maxwell. The key to ranking this book depends on what you are seeking to get out of the book. I believe the title, Everyday Wisdom, is correct. The only thing that would have been a bit more helpful would have been better organization throughout. It seems to jump around a lot but, overall, the book is very inspirational. They key to getting long-term value out of a book like this is to highlight the quotes you love and integrate them into your daily life. Practice what you read essentially. Hope this helps everyone.

Bite-Size Chunks Of Dyer's Wit And Wisdom,
This review is from: Everyday Wisdom (Paperback)
"I fill myself with love, and I send that out into the world. How others treat me is their path; how I react is mine." --Wayne Dyer
Every so often, I would visit Wayne Dyer's website because of its neat random quote generator. Sometimes a hoot, but always thought-provoking, Dyer's pithy quotes are a treat to read and digest. Now, Dyer's wonderful insights are available in the 301-page book Everyday Wisdom-a collection of 300 sayings by the beloved self-development teacher. These quotes address topics such as love, forgiveness, the power of thoughts, internal and external peace, intuition, empowerment, authenticity, attitude, death, abundance, and much more. Here are few samples of Dyer's wit and wisdom featured in this book: *You're already complete and whole, and nothing external to yourself in the physical world can make your more complete. *No one can create anger or stress within you. Only you can do that by virtue of how you process your world. *What you think about expands. If your thoughts are centered on what's missing, then what's missing, by definition, will have to expand. *Go beyond the ideas of succeeding and failing--these are the judgments. Stay in the process and allow the universe to handle the details. *Our beliefs are the invisible ingredients in all our activities. *Once you've learned how to enter your inner kingdom, you have a special retreat within that's always available to you. *So many people are expecting a miracle instead of being a miracle. *No one knows enough to be a pessimist. Everyday Wisdom is great to thumb through for inspiration and to aid in personal growth. You could even choose a quote and meditate on it throughout the day-as well as consider how you might apply its wisdom. Or, if you're in need of guidance, ask a questions and turn to a page at random for sage advice. Not only is this book a wonderful addition to any library, but it would also make a meaningful gift for others.

Audio Prozac - Keeping a balanced prospective of reality,
This review is from: Everyday Wisdom (Audio Cassette)
Thought control is not always easy. When we find we have wandered to the dark side, and are not enjoying our thoughts, it is nice to have positive thought provolking material to stimulate us. These thoughts (coping tools)are found in more detail in Wayne's other works. I prefer the audio tape while relaxing and driving. All of Wayne's efforts are great for understanding and accepting others, ourselves, happiness, and reality. A great gift for 'searching' friends.

Sometimes a great notion...,
By A Customer
This review is from: Everyday Wisdom (Audio Cassette)
It seems like the deal of the century, getting dozens and dozens of Dr. Dyer's life-enhancing thoughts packed into a single cassette. But it's really too much of a good thing, in too little time, without no apparent structure. Much as I appreciate many of his books and tapes, I found this one disturbingly fragmented, a ceaseless daisy chain of mind-boggling concepts, one after another, with hardly a breath in between. Most bothersome is the fact that these life-altering statements are strung together in haphazard fashion, with no thread of logic to the presentation. If your car has an audio pause button so you can give your brain time to absorb a few statements, this tape might work for you. Otherwise, I'd recommend his other audiotape, "Staying on the Path," over this one any day.

Literary gem,
By DarkShyne (Michigan, USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Everyday Wisdom (Paperback)
After finding this book while on vacation in one of those little beach town bookstores, I immediately read it and 4 years later, I am still finding that the wisdoms continue to apply and deepen in meaning. Instead of a book, I think of it rather as daily affirmations- each one different for whatever it is that I am experiencing on that particular day.
I recommend this book for everyone and anyone. What I enjoy most about this book is its spiritual undertones, which can be applied to any religion or spiritual background.
