This review is from: Everyday (MP3 Download)
"Everyday" is the title track from the Dave Matthews' Band surprisingly controversial album. After some sort of dust-up with Steve Lillywhite (who's produced the music of U2),the DMB chose Glen Ballard, the mainstream music producer who also produced the music of Alanis Morrissette. For avid Daveheads,it was a Jagged Little Pill. Glen Ballard is not to be confused with Guy Ballard, who used the nom de plume Godfre Ray King,in writing books such as The Voice of the "I AM" 1937 (Saint Germain Instruction)
"Everyday" is a cool song. Yes,it gave the DMB its first taste of mainstream appeal, but it does stand on its own. For pop music,it's good. It has the guest vocals of South African singer-songwriter Vusi Mahlasela Guiding Star It imitates gospel music and has a catchy chorus. There are some great instrumentals. For a mainstream pop music,it's good to listen to everyday. |
