Elwood is an unusual looking little dog whose story is an inspiration. The book chronicles his story, from being rescued as a puppy whose appearance jeopardized his life, to his triumph in a contest celebrating his beautiful "ugliness." Elwood is not an "ugly duckling" who grew into a beautiful swan. His face and body are still as unique as ever. Elwood's beauty comes from his spirit and character. The author, Karen Quigley, wrote the story to show the world that it's ok to be different. Elwood is an ambassador for all dogs, for all animals, and for all people. He and Karen inspire children and adults to look deeper than the outer appearance to find the beauty within all of us. His story also advocates for animals in shelters and makes the point that adopting a homeless animal is much better than buying. Read the book and visit Elwood's website to find out even more about why everyone really does love this little guy! [...]

I have not read this , so the star rating is not strictly accurate, sorry! I'd like to buy the book but the price is crazy prohibitive - hoping this can be addressed because this dog's story is so special, and should be shared. RIP Elwood!

Just needed to post that there is a great demand for this book, yet the cost is beyond belief. Can't this be made available to a greater audience?
