A great CD,

After I had seen the movie, I immediately bought this CD, because I thought the soundtrack was beautiful. The sound of this music makes me happy. It's very peaceful. The violins are terrific. Everything is good. The voice of the singers is great.

Not only does this soundtrack have all the songs you would want, but it features them in their complete form. Which means that my favorite song, "My Baby Just Cares For Me," has the tap part too. This CD is the best and I listen to it over and over.

After seeing the movie I was so happy to learn that there was a soundtrack to it, Everyone Says I Love You has great music, but like that's no wonder since it's from Woody Allen and all! Any Woody Allen fan would love this CD!

A Fresh New Musical,
By A Customer
This review is from: Everyone Says I Love You: Original Soundtrack Recording (Audio CD)
One of Woody Allen's most heart filled movies about a group of New Yorkers trying to rediscover love. Musicals went out of style in the late sixties, and if anyone can bring them back into circulation it is the Woodman. In honor of the early musicals from the thirties and forties, comes Everyone Says I Love You. The songs are all sung by the actors (except for the ones sung by Drew Barrymore's character) and are a great joy to listen to. The song sung by Woody Allen in Venice is the best moment in the movie. Listen to this soundtrack and rediscover love for yourself.

All-star cast sing songs from the movie.,

This is one of few soundtracks that actually feature songs sang by the actors and actresses that played in the movie.
So here you can hear Alan Alda, Woody Allen (who directed this musical), Goldie Hawn, Edward Norton, Billy Crudup, Julia Roberts, Patrick Crenshaw, Natasha Lyonne and Tim Roth(!) singin'. Drew Barrymore didn't sang, her voice was replaced by voice of Olivia Hayman. Well, I don't know why they didn't do the same with Julia Roberts, cause her singin' is horrible. Dick Hyman, who worked with Woody Allen on Bullets Over Broadway, too, arranged, produced and conducted the songs and played a few instruments on. But the soundtrack is kinda funny and that's good about it.

This CD Is terrific! After I saw the film (which I loved) I immediately checked out the soundtrack. It is great. It features all the songs sung in the movie, not like other soundtracks that only put a few of the songs in the movie on the CD. It Is GREAT! My favorite is Chiquita Banana (hehehe)

What an absolutely sensational album! In fact, in my opinion, it's actually much better than the movie. But Woody Allen gets the full credit either way.
The secrets to this album's success are Woody Allen's keen ear and great appreciation for the music of the 20's 30's ansd 40's and Dick Hyman's superb arrangements. Many of the tunes included here are rarely available anywhere. The title track, Everyone Says I Love You, written by the great Burt Kalmar and Harry Ruby, is only available in scratchy old tracks removed from the original Marx Brother's movie. And, speaking of The Marx Brothers, Hooray for Captain Spaulding (also by Kalmar and Ruby), is terrifically performed here IN FRENCH. But it's all good (well, except for Julia Robert's embarrassing performance of All My Life). The highlight for me is Ed Norton's superb My Baby Just Cares for Me, which is followed on the same track with a fun and zippy arrangement of the same song by Dick Hyman. It's tragic that our modern and terribly bizarre copyright laws have prevented this album and thousands of others from so far being available digitally (mp3 or other). Right now you must locate a used CD. Thankfully Amazon makes that possible. This is a MUST OWN album.

A great selection.,
This review is from: Everyone Says I Love You: Original Soundtrack Recording (Audio CD)
There are thousands of songs to choose from and yet Woody Allen always seems to know the right ones to pick. Songs that are real classics and wil enhance the story line. I don't know if he personally selects all the music or he gets help from Dick Hyman, but either way they are right on the money!
