Friends of Laura Smith say she was trying to match her career path to the old nursery rhyme, Doctor, Lawyer, Indian Chief, Tailor, Tinker, Soldier, Spy. She has been a scientist, psychologist, marketing analyst, intelligence analyst, aircraft designer, and computer systems designer. The glass ceiling made her miss a few, including fighter pilot. She served 25 years in the Air Force Reserves reaching the rank of Colonel. Laura lives in Virginia. She plays tennis, writes and works as an information-engineering manager.

This is a serious book that is very funny, very perceptive and is one that deals with everyday life today in a happy, joyful fashion. The author is able to turn otherwise distasteful matters into opportunities to see the bright side of life on every occasion. A slim book, it can be read quickly and, better yet, enjoyed often.

Laura Smith's annecdotes from her life made me laugh and groan...some of her ecclectic thinking is still working its way through my head which is the beauty of this read. If you want to peek into an extremely intelligent mind to see her visions of the wacky and weird things happening around her, I highly recommend this book. The only reason I rated it four stars is because it is too short...we need more!
