Bolder and more raucous than anything you’ve heard by a female artist in recent years, Everyone Wore White is colored with scratchy strings that weep, agitated guitars that recall Steve Albini and Jeff Buckley, and a cathartic voice that sings of displaced spirituality, psychosis, and a bicultural coming-of-age.
