Of all the research and classes I have done so far, your manual and
guidance are the most helpful & complete. As I take each step to build my new business, ideas from material I've read or heard often pops into my head. I'll stop and try to remember where the original idea came from. Your manual is the first thing I reach for and more often than not, it has the answer I am seeking! No other resource or class has as much in one place as you do! I am so grateful I found you on the list of recommended reading materials on NAPO's website. It was such a steal given how much I value all that you've taught me!

I received this book as a gift and found it to be an excellent resource when I was starting my business. The book was easy to read with topics listed in uppercase and underlined. I loved the many resources Sara provided: books and magazines, small business resources, stores that carry organizing products, places to take donations, and a list of holidays. The sample documents were nice to use as references, as well.
Unfortunately, the book doesn't have an index. So, after reading it cover-to-cover, I have to skim the book when I want to reference anything which I find annoying. Overall, the book is a nice resource.

Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Everything You Need to Know About a Career as a Professional Organizer (Spiral-bound)
This book DOES have a lot of good information. However, the price is WAY to high for it and it is very summarized.
I would recommend buying How to Start a Home-Based Professional Organizing Business (Home-Based Business Series) by Dawn Noble. It sells on Amazon for around $11 and, in my opinion, is five times the book than this one. It goes into significant detail while still being an easy read. I would've returned this book, but I had already highlighted some stuff. In short, I would've been happier with this purchase if I had paid under $15 for this "booklet".

So much for so little,
This review is from: Everything You Need to Know About a Career as a Professional Organizer (Spiral-bound)
It's hard to believe how much information is packed into this easy-to-read manual. If you are "on the fence" about joining the profession of organizing, this manual will save you research time by explaining start-up costs, salary expectations and training needed.
If you've already started with clients and can't seem to keep the phone ringing, the Nitty Gritty business details like "how to receive free media coverage (press release samples included), or 50 marketing strategies" will be EXTREMELY helpful.

This is the most comprehensive collection of information on starting a professional organizing business I have seen. I have owned and operated a business before and I can tell you that this book gives very practical advice and just the need-to-know. It is written clearly and succintly. I am very new to this field and I have a lot of questions--this little book answered all of them. And Sara Pedersen generously shares ideas for getting your business off the ground. Her warm personality comes through in her friendly style of writing--I've never met her but I feel like she truly wants me to succeed in this business. If you are looking for a book on how to organize, this is not your book--and that is not the purpose of the book nor the author's focus. But if you are looking for ONE BOOK that will give you thorough information on how to start a professional organizing business and how to grow it, then you need look no further--this is the book you need. Thank you, Sara Pedersen, for writing this excellent book.

Love It! Love It! Love It!,

I recently purchased this career book. I am beginning my organizing business and I can't tell you how much this book has helped me. What a wonderful tool! Sara has covered EVERYTHING! Love it, love it, love it! If I had to highlight certain things the entire book would be colored! Great examples, resources and advice if you are looking to begin your own organizing business. There is not a bunch of mish mash in it. As a matter of fact, when you receive the book you may feel slighted by the size for what you paid, but give it a chance, open it up and read all the terrific details and expectations covered in the manual. It's worth every penny!!

Wow! This book is really comprehensive and well-written... an amazing first glimpse into the organizing industry. I really like the detailed info about client interaction, like how to do assessments and handle an in-person organizing session. The Tricky Client Scenarios will surely help me in the future. I also appreciate the easy readability of the book, its friendly tone. Almost like I'm sitting down with the author for a one-on-one conversation. Great marketing tips, resource lists, and a friendly personal note emailed to me by the author. Great product and service. Thanks!
