5.0 out of 5 stars A Great Gift for the Groom
I bought this book for my brother and gave it to him at his engagement party. I told him to read the jacket aloud to everyone, and you should have seen his face when he opened it and saw the pages were blank. It was a huge hit. I have since given it to a few more grooms...what a great gift.

3.0 out of 5 stars Lighten up and laugh!
Yes, friends, this is a blank book. It's meant to be a joke, and it is funny. It's the literary version of a whoopee cushion. Give it to your husband, boyfriend, coworkers, bride or groom-to-be, etc. It's just a joke.

If you don't get it, don't be offended. There is no offense, I am sure, intended at all. This is a great marketing idea, and people have...

This is the perfect gift for the appropriate recipient. If you don't like it, don't buy it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Most comphrenhensive book I ever read.<Grin>, January 25, 1998

The book tells it all of what men know about women. Two seconds after I got done reading it I shook my head and realized where I've been going wrong all these years. A must read for everybody!

4.0 out of 5 stars Everything Men [don't] Know..., October 13, 2007

Very funny :).

I don't think this "book" is so deep as to try and convey hatred or other negative feelings. It is a joke, and from what I can tell of the reactions I witnessed when showing it around, it is funny to both sexes.

As for it being a waste of valuable resources...it can be used for notes. In which case, "What Men Know" will be a bunch of blabber that you jotted down :).

4.0 out of 5 stars Great for the Bookshelf, February 20, 2007
I leave a copy of this in my bookshelf and when friends are looking over my books (mostly real estate, financial planning, investing, self-improvement, etc) they almost always pull this one out with a very inquisitive, "AH HA !" It's very much worth having one in your bookshelf too; always worth a laugh.

5.0 out of 5 stars So it won't win the Pulitzer, it's still pretty amusing, July 4, 2006

I bought this book recently as a gift for an unreconstructed male chauvinist who frowned at me...until he got the joke. I saw this item has been released in many foreign languages such as Italian, Spanish, Gaelic and Yiddish, so I guess men and women are the same all over the world. Which seems to me to be a good thing these days.

5.0 out of 5 stars You get what you pay for..., March 22, 2006
This review is from: Everything Men Know About Women (Truly Basic Books) (Paperback)
The whole point is that it is not really a book ... this is a great marketing idea (c'mon, dont you wish YOU thought of this ... 350,000 copies!). It costs about the same as a greeting card and is meant to either make a point or get a laugh. There was a previous variation on this idea awhile back in the form of "The Wit and Wisdom of Spiro T Agnew" (Nixon's Vice President who resigned after being charged with tax evasion and taking bribes)

Confucious say: he who laughs last didn't get joke! Unfortunately for a few, it cost them $4.95 to find out!

1.0 out of 5 stars Silly premise, silly book, February 5, 2004
This review is from: Everything Men Know About Women (Truly Basic Books) (Paperback)
Someone gave me this book before I went on a train ride. The person who gave it to me obviously thought it was funny and clever. I was embarrassed for this person, that he had such a sexist and immature sense of humor. I think it is a stupid idea for a book, and that the cover is cheesy. Not to mention, a waste of valuable natural resources. If you are into such stupid gag gifts, however, I recommend Alan Francis's book with the same title, published by Andrews McMeel in 1995. The cover copy is much more clever, and it doesn't look cheap and cheesy like this book does. Oh, that copy of the book I received? I left it on the train. I'm sure it got thrown away with the other discarded refuse.

This joke, and this kind of joke, ceased being funny a long time ago. When does the hatred and contempt stop?
