Ray Stevens his music seems to be mostly influenced by traditional country-and-western and gospel music, but in his earlier material, heavy influences from R&B groups can be heard. Many of his novelty songs include long sections of dialog between two people, both played by Stevens, such as in "The Streak". Unlike some novelty artists, such as "Weird Al" Yankovic, Stevens has had some successful serious songs, such as "Mr. Businessman," "Everything Is Beautiful," "Turn Your Radio On," and "Misty." --This text refers to an alternate Audio CD edition.

This is a wonderful edition of Ray Stevens' record album entitled "Everything Is Beautiful." Of course, the advantage of an MP3 download edition of this album is that you can choose to download the entire CD with all the tracks, or you can just download the songs you want. The quality of the sound is excellent and Ray never sounded better! Ray's fans will surely want these tracks unless they have them already; and it's all so good that this makes a fine introductory album for anyone just discovering Ray Stevens' music.

The title track is an auspicious beginning; Ray sounds great and he never lets go of a single superfluous note! This is one of my favorite songs ever and nobody but Ray could have done this so well. No wonder it hit the top of a Billboard chart! "Brighter Day" again has Ray squarely front and center; and that's grand. The musical arrangement is very well done and it complements Ray's singing to perfection. "Early in the Morning" has a good piano arrangement as Ray sings this faultlessly; I love it! In addition, there are other gems including fine covers of "Get Together;" "Leaving on a Jet Plane;" "Raindrops Keep Fallin' on My Head" and the "Love Theme from Romeo and Juliet."

"She Belongs to Me" has some backup even though Ray never really needed backup--his talent carried him through every time. "She Came in Through the Bathroom Window" is a creative rendition of this Beatles tune; and "Something" is also an excellent cover of a Beatles song written by George Harrison--what a masterpiece! The CD ends with Ray Stevens performing "Walk a Mile in My Shoes;" and it leaves me wanting more!

And more is what I can easily get with all the albums and box sets by Ray out there. I highly recommend this album for its high quality control, five star music.
