I purchased this recipe book to make homemade dog biscuits after the tainted pet food scare, and when I found my new Scnoodle puppy didn't like the store bought brands. The recipes have all the ingredients you have on hand in your kitchen, and are incredibly easy to make. The cookies I baked worked great during the "training" phase with my dog, they were excellent "reward" snacks when she was learning. They smell great when baking them. I also use chicken broth instead of water in the recipes and they add I think a whole lot more flavor for the dog. The other thing that makes it such a great book, is that when you're in a hurry and have the likes of a Bake Sale that you have to contribute to, each recipe makes a large batch, and when they were all bagged up, they actually helped make a decent dollar when others see that all natural ingredients have been used.

well all i can say is well WOW, this book is a perfect specimen from the cover page until the last page, this is a very satisfying dog cookbook and i recomend you should buy it, 'cause all the recipes are eeeasy. I was introduced to this cookbook from DogFancy magazine. That gave one of the {everything cooking for dogs book} recipes in their 2008 april edition.

I am looking for a cookbook for my dog who is 3lbs and is a very finicky eater. I was hoping to find recipes that she would enjoy, but a recipe that calls for chicken, olive oil, chicken broth, and store bought barbecue sauce isn't a creative enough recipe for a dog that won't eat anything...However, this book is good for beginner cooks and it has good warnings of what is poisonous to dogs and a bit of nutrition advice that has been helpful.

I got this book because my newly adopted dog has terrible food allergies. I am cooking her her own food to save money, because the food the vet gave me was so expensive. The recipes in this book were not made to serve as your dogs only food, just to treat them over kibble. They do not provide you with any vitamin and nutrietion information for feeding the food to the dogs. That being said, there are alot of fun recipes in the book to treat your dog with.

I was hoping for full recipes which I could feed my dog in place of dog food. Instead, this book suggests the recipes as an addition to dog food. The recipes call for a lot of organic products and a few items which I find questionable feeding to a dog. Overall, not a purchase I would make again.

There are books dedicated to full meal replacement recipes and if that is what you are looking for, this isn't the book for you. But if you like spoiling your dog with inexpensive real food treats, give the Everything Cooking for Dogs Book a try since the recipes are for treats, treats, and treats. The recipes are simple to follow, are quick and easy, have a short list of ingredients, contain ingredients commonly found in lots of pantries, and they provide variations on a theme. These are all major pluses for my cookbook collection be it for dogs or humans.

Nutritional information, though missing, is easy to figure out based on the simplicity of the recipes and the fact that the ingredients are common. And as indicated by other reviewers some of the ingredients could be questioned. Maybe...perhaps...I guess they could be questioned. They are very few and the author clearly points them out in the beginning of the book. If uncertainty persists, ask your vet but don't let it stop you from trying this book.

This is a great book for cooking for your dogs.
I have slowly been working in meals for them, I don't want to do it every night yet but they know when they are getting something "special" mixed with their kibble.

1st off, the beginning goes in detail on different foods good and bad for your dogs, what it does if and when they get into bad stuff etc. What oils and flours to use etc. It also says, not every recipe is good for your dog, go with the ones where you know they like....

Some of the recipes call for grilled chicken etc....Well honestly, if I have left overs in the fridge from Chicken that isn't grilled I use that, let's face it people they are dogs. They don't care if it is grilled or roasted......LOL!

Everything I have done for them, they love!

I got this recipe book because I was fed up of the store running out of my dogs' favorite biscuits, plus my female needed to go on a diet. There are lots of different healthy recipes for my pets and they prefer homemade biscuits to the store bought ones now. Showed my sister-in-law when she came to visit and she was so impressed, she went out and bought herself a copy as well.
