5.0 out of 5 stars Best-of-Band, July 3, 1998
By A Customer
This review is from: Everything Crash (Audio CD)
For whoever is interested in the Early-Nineties San Francisco "Anti-Folk" scene this CD is an excellent starting point. Recommended if you like Billy Bragg, Camper Van Beethoven, Fairport Convention (stunning cover of Genesis Hall on this CD), early Uncle Tupelo. For more SF anti-folk check out Bedlam Rovers, Penelope Houston, Barbara Manning/SF Seals, Harm Farm, etc.

5.0 out of 5 stars Powerful, December 25, 1998
By A Customer
This review is from: Everything Crash (Audio CD)
Perhaps the best album put out by this outstanding band. Mixing very strong lyrics, very often focusing on societial or political issues, and a sound that recalls early Camper Van Beethoven (mixing country, folk and punk influences), X-Tal were a band that should have been huge, but were victims of public indifference. Truly one of the best bands around in the early '90s.
