This book was excellent. It doesn't talk down to singles, and it provides suggestions that are easy to use and extremely practical. Most dating books tell you to do things that are extremely silly, stuff you would never do for fear of seeming stupid. But this book is great in that it makes you look cool while you're trying to ask someone on a date or when you're on a date. Good advice for real people.

If there were half ratings, I'd give this book four and a half stars. It was fun and easy to read, but also helpful. There was a lot of good advice, plus little extras that I really liked, like romantic dinner menus, suggestions for clothes, quick confidence boosters and even sample conversation starters. I recommend this book for anyone who's looking to meet new people.

A one-stop singles' resource from two single women who believe that dating should be celebratedÐnot maligned.reviewed by Amy DurganThe dating life is given a bum rap by married couples and singles alike. It's all too easy to forget how exciting it can be to meet someone new who makes you feel all swimmy inside, even when you're alone in a bathrobe eating from a pint of Ben & Jerry's Chocolate Comfort. Which is why Leah and Elina Furman, two single sisters, wrote The Everything Dating Book: How to Meet New People, Where to Go and What to Say & Make the Most of Every Date! This handy guidebook doesn't give you a formula or rules to follow. The authors don't claim to be experts, just single women who believe that dating should be celebrated rather than maligned. as they suggest, the single life can be the most exciting time of lifeÐyou never know whom you'll meet at the bus stop or on your computer screen.Since the dating years are also a great time to get to know yourself, the authors maintain, the first part of the book helps readers discern who their perfect match may be by exploring values and interests through fun quizzes. Do you fit your own high standards? Or are you impeding a relationship because you're too picky or don't know what you're looking for in a mate? Power FlirtingOnce you get to know yourself better than you thought possible, it's time for the pursuit. The Everything Dating Book not only suggests hundreds of places where you can meet potential dates, it also gives outfit and grooming suggestions and has exercises to boost self-esteem. After all, self-confidence is sexy.Read more ›

This book was not only informative, it was laugh-out-loud funny. The writers have a knack for keeping the reader interested, while providing important dating instructions. I read this book twice already. I have already used some of their advice, and it seems to really be working.

I was relieved to find a book that focused on what a good time dating could be with the right attitude, instead of how to cut corners to get to the nearest altar. Approaching people and enduring first dates has gotten a lot easier. There's so many ideas and bits of advice that I'll be referring to this book a lot in the future.
